this is burying the lede of the utter batshit casting of the 4th least charismatic member of 'N Sync as Pontius Pilate

he also seems to be taking the show far more seriously than a sitcom should be taken

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HAAAAAAAAAAAAANDS

Also notable for having a fairly active online fandom in the late 90s, and I maaaay be bringing this up to see if I can bring anyone from those days out of the woodwork.

Yeah, I'm a little confused that one of the main criticisms in the review is excessive angst, given that it's basically a story about child soldiers. If anything, there was a surprising amount of humor alongside things like 15-year-olds weighing the morality of killing small children.

Was that the one with the kids who were all alien changelings? I think I read the first half-dozen or so, I remember them being decent.

I used to have the whole series, but various cross-country moves for college and grad school have me down to the first 6. Every now and then someone will put up a big lot on Ebay for like, $1/each, and I never quite work up the gumption to buy them.

The Cheers graph is kind of amazing because it's pretty consistent throughout
(slight drop after Shelley Long left, and then a pickup in the last two

Whatever Happened to the Man of TomoWROOOOOOOOOOOONG

Blame K-PAX.

Predictable in the sense that it seems to be the main clip that's been trotted out in association with her performance throughout awards season. I agree that it's not really a showcase for acting.

I like that they went with that scene for Lawrence and not the more predictable Live and Let Die clip.

Did you predict it was going to be a Best Picture/Best Director split? (Not snarking, genuinely curious.)

Yeah, the video packages this year were pretty weak. They're rarely excellent, but they're usually at least competent enough to provide that fun hit of "hey, I know that thing!", and occasionally a really good one does sneak in. This year, though…the animation montage looked like it was going to only be for
