Yeesh, I was just being tongue-in-cheek, what with our capture it on cell phone, stream it culture. I don’t think your response was necessary.
But if possible Cstrife16, go get some awesome cellphone video. Shocked commentary welcome, vertical video no so much.
Yes, I’m a white guy, so my opinion is immediately invalid. Or at least it’s invalid as soon as it differs from yours. That attitude helped all those underprivileged people so much in the last few months, didn’t it?
I had hoped to have at least one place I could go to and escape from endless debates, finger-pointing, and rhetoric over the next few weeks and months. A place where I could just engage in my hobby, and only see election or political stories if they actually affected video games. Maybe someone would make a good game…
There are some people that voted for Hillary, were surprised that Trump won, and have posted (on other sites) that they see this as a learning experience. They recognize that the American people are grouping themselves in silos of like-minded people and so they believe that everyone thinks like them.
I had to laugh every time, the round table of talking heads, covering the election results, kept referring to Trump’s base as uneducated Americans or uneducated white men.
This we can agree on. A lot of my liberal friends and family stated the same thing. Liberals were very arrogant and thought that there was no way hell that Trump would win. Some were even defiantly stating that Hillary had this election in the bag.
More Democrats in Florida voted for George Bush than Nader. The Nader effect is bullshit
55% voter turnout.
Did you read the article about how the Nader effect is a stupid myth?
Totally agree. I think Liberals need to take a long look in the mirror and think about one thing, arrogance. They have been so cocky and arrogant about this election cycle or the last two or three. It jumped up and bit them in the ass in a huge way last night.
But Nader was a more liberal Green party candidate that stole votes from the democrat. The libertarians steal votes from republicans. All Johnson did was make it close.
“You’re a racist if you voted for Trump”
I went to Iraq. Clinton’s support for that war is part of why I voted for Stein. Clinton lost because she was a bad candidate. Blaming it on anyone else might make you feel better, but it doesn’t change that reality.
Funny you should cite the Iraq war as your point when the Iraq war was only possible because Hillary undermined Democratic opposition to it.
“It can be hard to put your finger on exactly what you fear most about the rise of Donald Trump: the racism? The sexism? The xenophobia? The profoundly dangerous lack of judgment?”
It’s based on the assumption that any vote not for Hillary is a vote for Trump. Trump supporters used the same reasoning when the polls showed him losing.
Honest question, what makes you think those votes would have gone to Hillary? The few Johnson supporters I know probably would have gone Trump. But that’s a small sample size so I don’t know what the norm is.
