The Silhouette and its two siblings look like nothing else made by an American automaker, and they have become, at least in the car enthusiast community, thoroughly cool.”

“Holy Grail” is literally the new literally.

Seconded. I mean, this is Jalop so the anti-capitalism drum needs to be beaten whenever there is a chance, but sometimes doing so in a blind union rage without considering any other angles makes you look silly.

Yes, this quote is pathetic if you assume that this man’s one and only feeling about COVID-19 is that he

There are a lot of upper middle class families. They lease or buy the cars and keep them for 3-5 years and then plenty of middle class families can get them used for a decent price.

I certainly did, Tom, and can you show me where it say something along the lines of “buyers that engage in immoral activities are due whatever comes their way from the banks they’re trying to screw”? Because that’s what this is, Tom. It’s the consumer trying to screw over the bank. Edit: Which, by the way, also did

It also vastly under states the effect on travel time.

Yeah, it ain’t happening. Especially between KC and St. Louis. Neither of them are exactly economic powerhouses. If 4 hours on I-70 is too much then just hop on a 50 minute Southwest flight.

There is nothing surrounding airplanes. Basically the only thing that will take an air plane down (unless you’re a Boeing 737MAX, apparently) is a complete structural failure. Even quite severe failures including loss of cabin pressurization are usually very survivable, as you have a very long time to deal with them.

Um what? If you’re not doing Stow and Go, you’re doing minivan wrong.

Pros: It shares the same basic layout as the Pacifica: Fold-flat rear seats and a removable middle row

I have to laugh a little bit at the idea that a chevy small block qualifies for anything with the title “of the last decade”

I get it’s a joke but just once I’d like to see one of these posts where every option is a good, realistic choice. I’m tired of seeing 1 good option and 3 batshit crazy vehicles. I mean seriously, Austin lives in Maryland and works for a living, he doesn’t run a summer boutique on Nantucket.

As far as not relying solely on the touch screen, MB does this as well. There’s the larger track pad with shortcut buttons on the center console, there’s even 2 smaller trackpads on each side of the steering wheel, voice commands and of course directly with the touch screen.

My first thought as well. I hate evidence free speculation like this, it reeks of politics.

Those speed limits only work because each lane has a designated speed range. It’d be nice if MA, MD, and DC drivers would get the F out of the left lane when they’re going under the speed limit.

Police did not identify speed as a primary factor in any of the 14 fatal crashes on 75 mph freeways in 2018

Can we have special licenses for those of us that have high performance driving experience? I wouldn’t mind passing a rigorous test if it meant I could enjoy unlimited speed limits in certain areas like Germany.

The Prius has excellent aero and is geared for good economy on the freeway. But there are a lot of hybrids that barely increase the highway MPG over a regular gas counterpart.

Diesel shines in the fuel economy realm compared to hybrids when you are doing lots of steady state highway cruising. Hybridization really shines in stop and go settings, but adds little on the freeway. So I can see buying diesel over a hybrid equivalent if you mostly do long freeway drives. That said, I can’t imagine
