The “Mary Sue” complaints are so gendered it’s ridiculous. No one ever whined about Anakin Skywalker (all of TEN years old) doing badass things.

You know that Brian K Vaughan specifically wrote it so that it can never be adapted, right? The first page is no accident; it's there to scare off Hollywood execs when they try to read it.

The Martian’s big advantage was a complete lack of Damon Lindelof...

I dunno, Nyong’o specifically said she wanted a role that didn’t use her body coming off of 12 Years a Slave (which is totally understandable) and I can see from a world building perspective why they’d want to go with an alien. I thought she did great work both for mo-cap & voice work. Loved the character and looking

Biggs feels Zuvio’s pain.

The reaction of the storm troopers to Ren throwing a temper tantrum after Rey escapes. The body language. “nope.. We’ll just leave you to that.”

Trench run was sweet but that one long sequence of Poe being a bad MF over Maz Kanata’s domain is what caught my eye. Also, the way they used X-Wings over water to give us the classic movie shot of a cavalry on the horizon charging to the rescue (under a cloud of dust, usually), was brilliant.

Well if you’re not watching the Muppet Christmas Carol you’re really letting civilization down.

“A lot of the impetus of The Force Awakens’s marketing has been the emphasis on nostalgia for the three movies of the original trilogy.”

Honestly, I want this Phil Noto poster to become official. Dear god, the composition and coloring is just fantastic.

But I think there are things about the prequels which, carried forward by a young director with great vision, are worth keeping around.

So- I’m 22. Most people I know who are my own age grew up with the prequels. The same nostalgia that people in their 30’s have for the OT, my generation has (for the most part) for the PT.

Correction: Each of Phlox’s three wives has two other husbands; Phlox himself is their third.
