That’s kinda lame, imo. I’m all about equality and even gay characters but this doesn’t read equality, just feels like lazy stereotyping. “Muscular chick with pink short hair? Definitely a dyke.” Make Tracer gay. LMAO Watch people lose their minds.

To be honest I find disturbing that people assume Zrya is gay because she has pink hairs and is strong. It is a way to enforce gender stereotypes.
Or maybe she’s just a heterosexual female who’s strong? Must everything be gay? I see this agenda pushed here on kotaku than any other websites.
Does she have to be gay? I get the whole stereotypical appearance, but aren’t we trying to get past contextualizing someone based off their appearance? Why can’t she be a hetero girl that likes to work out? How do we know she isn’t asexual? This stinks of hypocrisy.
Pffft. God forbid a heterosexual woman should have any muscle.
I don’t have a problem with a gay character. Maybe Reinhardt frequents the man bars. My concern is that people have looked at the most stereotypical gay character, and said “Her! She’s the gay thing that is gay!” Maybe that’s just her look.
WHO CARES??
Also there are *beautiful* woman body builders and power lifters out there that don’t do gear - Zarya looks like you bolted a woman’s head onto a man’s body, or a woman who is using steroids.
I just hate how people assume she is gay Based on her looks. Why can’t she just be bi or asexual? Why fully one way?
I have mixed feeling on this. More representation is always good, and games like these let you inject a lot of implied personality onto your characters. (The article says as much)
But I hope this doesn’t just reinforce people’s stereotypical idea of what gay and straight mean about how you need to look and act.
Like these are video game characters shooting bullets at each other in the face, do we really need sexual identity? Who the fuck cares, the lore in this game is about as deep as LoL ie. surface scratching bs that ultimately means nothing in terms of gameplay. What next? A 6 page article about robosexuality with Zen?…
People always go off on tumblr as the home of all feminists and SJWs.
Fan Fiction is shit, news at 11.
I’m not sure I’ll ever understand why some folks get so worked up about shipping. It’s all just kinda weird to me, but I’ve never been a big “head canon” kinda guy. Either it’s part of the lore (from the company), or it’s not real. I dunno. Generational differences probably. That’s not real music!
