Oh, gawd yes!  My GTI has a rattle just like this right now.  It’s driving me up a wall!  I’ve spent hours trying to diagnose and fix it, to no avail.  And it’s so inconsistent that the dealer would be pointless...

I really don’t like the idea that cops have this magic tool, which can cause you unlimited pain and damage, and if you don’t like the dog eating you - you are assaulting an officer.

No. There are many things that could go wrong. After 20 years of work hopefully we’ve engineered 99% of them out. This is a big deal and it’s taken thousands of very smart people thousands and thousands of hours.
