That’s what the fifth paragraph was all about. Also, what does population size have to do with it other than there probably would be enough supply for the US to do it yet? Getting 84% of a population to buy EVs is an impressive feat whether it’s 6 million or 350 million people.

I’ll just leave this here

Future generations are going to think we’re so dumb. It’s like when we read about people during the bubonic plague who thought it was caused by “bad smells” and not the trash, feces, and rats cluttering the streets or how people started saying “God bless you” when others sneezed because they thought a sneeze allowed

WHY DON’T PEOPLE LIKE THE SAME THINGS I DO AS MUCH AS I LIKE THEM?!!!!

At least once a day I see people driving so recklessly that it’s almost like they’re trying to earn a new high score

I have yet to see a digital gauge cluster that I like and it’s all because of backlighting. Blacks end up being dimly lit grays that are uniform edge to edge. OLED would look beautiful, but probably wouldn’t be practical because of burn-in and we’re still a longs way away from micro-LED. I’m sure someone could make a

Oh, they aren’t leaving until their demands are met? Good! They can’t spread covid to innocent people if they’re sheltering in place.

How about “Stop telling people how they should enjoy their property”? If I encase a GBC in resin and use it as an art piece in my living room, that GBC is still brining me joy. Maybe I just like how it looks. Maybe it reminds me of the joy I used to have when I used to play it.

Goodness, that’s a lot of circles in that interior. Not my cup of tea, unfortunately.

So, there is a new startup in Mass. that looks really promising. They’re recycling Li-ion batteries and the batteries made from their processed materials actually have higher capacities and can handle charging rates at up to three times faster.

hehe, including mine!

I post this with love, Mercedes!

I love how an unspoken part of their premise is that shady people don’t work at dealerships. How about stop collecting data that would cause a security risk if it got out. Of course, this was never about safety, it’s about restricting competition. Always has be, always will be.

Ugh, whatever. I’m pretty pedantic myself (I’ve gone on far too many rants about “coupes” only having two doors and not just a raked roofline), but the fight to keep “SUV” and “Crossover” as two separate things has long been over. When even Car and Driver defines an SUV as:

Since you put it in the title, I’ll weigh in. Recessions (and now, pandemics) only hurt the middle and lower classes. It’s the greatest trick the rich have ever pulled on the American people. Pretend to be against gun control, immigration, and abortions and a big chunk of the population will let you rob them blind.

Boomer’s dream?! I don’t se ANY chrome on there at all!

I was wondering when SUVs with letter-number names were going to switch to “real” names. Gotta get in on the fad of writing the model name across the back in HUGE letters!

When I was younger, I used to go for hours almost every day. Now I'm lucky if I get to dedicate more than an hour to it every week or two!

Wow, Highlander and Grand Cherokee for my state. This chart makes me so sad, but I’m not surprised. The vast majority of Americans HATE driving so why would they buy vehicles that are actually fun to drive (at least, fun by my definition, I guess. If you think it’s fun to drive a CR-V or an F-150, go you!).

Haha, yup. I worked with a guy who took his Santa-Fe in for new tires and left with a new Camry hybrid and a 7 year loan (and this was in, like, 2008). We were all dumbfounded by that decision!
