In all seriousness, would a purpose built version of this work?

Ooo, I want to add auto-dimming mirrors, inside and outside, to my list! I guess and camera and screen setup would work too (probably preferred, actually).

The ability to record live radio, basically the same as a TV DVR. My current car does this. Any station that I’m listening to automatically gets recorded. It builds up a 2o minute buffer and I can rewind and relisten to things. I can also pause it when taking a phone call or even when turning off the car before

Here’s my list, which comes off as a bit anti-jalop and partially based on living in a cold climate:

And a second slower to 60!

I mean, sort of. In a hybrid drive setup (so, almost all hybrid cars), the ICE sacrifices some drive performance and smoothness for increased efficiency with the expectation that the electric motor will fill in the gaps. This thing is purely a range extender (which I don’t consider to be a hybrid at all, it’s just an

Haha, I guess the other 25% are the questions they ask us and then turn our answers into a slideshow!

I’m getting reeeaaaallllyyyy close to dumping Jalopnik over these damn slideshows. I really hate those huge videos, too, but at least those were every once in a while. The slideshows are like 75% of the articles I click on now!

Upvote for Pioneer, that sounds absolutely perfect!

Right, I completely agree, I was pointing out what I’ve heard several people on here call out as “ugly”.

The amount of people on this very blog who insist every Ferrari after the F355 is ugly just blows my mind. So beautiful:

With a little extra room there...

I remember reading a while back that if manufacturers could design around 95 octane (AKI), the fuel efficiency they’d get out of it would out weigh the additional cost. I wonder what the cost difference is for synthetic fuel to boost the octane. Would we even need multiple grades anymore? Could we just standardize on

I wanted them to announce a manual so freakin’ bad. Especially with both CT4-V and CT-5 V Blackwings coming with a stick, I thought for sure this would have one too.

My wife’s car has it and I honestly don’t mind it at all. The only thing I wish I could tweak is, when her car is in Eco Mode, it kicks in just before I get to a complete stop, so if I’m doing a longer roll to ease it to a stop, it’ll kick back on and then back off again.

Right. Electric cars make a ton of sense for people with garages and don’t drive 200 miles a day. I don’t want to pull up to a station every week to buy several dollars per gallon eFuel when I can top off at home every few days for just a few dollars.

If I have a car that can go 200 miles on a single charge, I’m good. I don’t want to add all the weight and lose all the space and add all the complexity to lug around a range extender that might save me a little bit of time once every 2 to 3 years (if that).

My guess on #1 is what I’ve seen in a bunch of crossovers, they bulk up the door panels and extend the dash further in than necessary to give the illusion that you’re in a big SUV. Example, the Ford Escape is basically a lifted Focus hatchback. Exterior dimensions are almost exactly the same (except taller), but get

What I would like to see is these fobs get a lot smaller. My wife’s new Volvo came with two regular sized fobs and a “Sport Key” that’s nice and tiny.

Meh. I’ve got a 14 year old Corolla sitting outside my house with 160,000 Rhode Island miles on it that has been washed maybe twice its entire life. A little surface rust here and there on the undercarriage, but no damage at all. The only thing that has gotten rust damage was the muffler which was the OEM original up
