Now here’s a question, is it “whip” or is it “WIP” (Work In Progress)? I have a feeling it started out as the latter and become the former over time because people didn’t know the acronym.

I only ever hear the older guys say “idiot light” now, if ever.
When I was like 8 or 9 my uncle taught me the basics and would let me shift sometimes while he drove. My first time actually driving was when I was 16 on vacation in Portugal in a rented 99 Ford Focus. My dad would take me out on hilly dirt roads and would make me stop half way up the hill and then I would have to get…
I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but, PLEASE, let there be a non crew cab version! You know you’re getting desperate when you start pricing out a used four door Wrangler just to turn it into a UTE (https://gr8tops.com/shop/jeepmodels/jk-wrangler/jeep-wrangler-jkute-truck-conversion-kit). If I had the equipment…
Yup, it was absolutely awful and my most regretful car purchase.
Not as impractical as other cars, I’m sure, but my old 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe was not a good daily driver (for the same reasons as most coupes, really). Doors were way too big and heavy, back seats were too small and too difficult to get into (whoever thought it would be a good idea to rely on the electric seat…
It’s kind of funny. Throughout the 2000's I was a pretty heavy console gamer and when I bought my 360 I immediately bought a play-and-charge kit with it. By the early 2010's my console gaming had dropped off significantly and it seemed like every single time I picked up that 360 controller it had a dead battery pack,…
It’s not as good as you think. You have to spend half the time being a nervous wreck, afraid of people who aren’t white for really no reason while simultaneously feeling oppressed, completely oblivious to the privilege that has been afforded to you since birth and that you reap the rewards from that privilege on a…
The more emulators the better. That said, shoutout to the CXBX-Reloaded team (https://github.com/Cxbx-Reloaded) who, after several years of very hard work have a good number of games working (like Jet Set Radio Future).
It amazes me that we live in a society that can absolutely destroy people’s careers/livelihoods when they say or do something that we don’t like, even when it has zero impact or consequence on anything, but politicians can actively hurt and destroy the lives of thousands and millions of people, while simultaneously…
That top image looks a lot like a display I remember seeing at the local Tweeter a couple of decades ago. I think it was a Sony display, too. On one side they had the typical head unit amp which was like a single chip and on the other side was the exploded (Xploded?) innards of a dedicated amp.
As awesome as GT4 was, May 2005 brought us Forza Motorsport which, I feel, cranked the genre up a couple of notches. Gameplay was smooth, control was excellent, and the damage just added a whole new level to the simulation. Definitely my favorite sim of the generation.
Last year I took a bus tour on Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. I ABSOLUTELY need to get back on that road in a nice, planted roadster. It was amazing on a freakin’ bus, I can only imagine what it’s like inches from the ground, open air, and rowing my own gears.
I was working at Electronics Boutique at the time. About a year after this game came out, we had so many used copies of The Bouncer that it had an entire shelf to itself (although, this was when the PS2 was only about a year old and the Xbox and GameCube had just come out. The PS2 section, new and used combined, was…
Honestly, it has everything to do with not having to take a key out of my pocket, ever. I’d actually prefer a twist start vs the push start (my wife’s Volvo S60 has a twist start knob on the center console behind the shift lever). I can go from the office to the car to my garage and into my house without ever having…
This is a very similar process I have to do to keep my Logitech MX Revolution mouse alive. I bought a bunch of micro switches a while back and every 5 to 8 years I have to replace one of them on the mouse. I’ll probably do its first Li-Ion battery pack change in the near future.
In an effort to cut costs and not make a different front bumper for a low-volume variant, Nissan visually neutered the B15 Sentra SE-R (and Spec V).
I’m used to being the weirdo, but I’m surprised with this one. I thought the refresh was nicer looking than the original. Either is better looking than the BRZ, though, in my opinion.
I know, right? Why doesn’t it have ugly, cheap looking plastic cladding on the wheel arches?
As a kid throughout the 90's my parents would take us “home” to Portugal ever couple of years. I don’t remember if it was 97 or 99, but I remember walking around Viseu and being blown away seeing one of my favorite American cars at the time, a car I hadn’t even seen in person yet in the states! In a random parking…
