A Wizard Of Earthsea, by Ursula K. LeGuin. First fantasy novel I read featuring a hero who rises from lowly beginnings to become one of the most daunting and powerful wizards in fantasy literature...and also happens to be a person of color.
Wait a minute.
Commenter Heather, as quoted: “He seems mostly to serve as a catalyst for others’ stories, not his own.”
..Perhaps Dorian Gray is Lucifer Morningstar, and the painting is the Devil’s anchor on Earth?
To wit, the infamous portrait helps to mask His Malignancy from Vanessa’s perceptions, and exacerbated her…
Other commenters have already mentioned this, but this book actually helped me not only with drawing, but consciously changing visual perspective. Bad science, but significant results; I went through the course and improved my drawing immensely.
....I don’t...is it just me getting a Faye Dunaway vibe going on here?
If it’s Kirk Langstrom, originally the Man-Bat in the main DC canon, then his being a vampire is biological, much like Marvel’s Morbius the Living Vampire...rooted in a refined version of Langstrom’s serum. ...Maybe this Firestorm will eventually become Jason Rusch and Martin Stein?

Okay, hold up:

In this case, a telepath hears the thoughts behind what’s being said, and people are almost always thinking. The more sensitive the telepath, the…
What the Book Is: It was the very first book I read in the urban fantasy genre. It is the story about a musician named Eddi and her band caught up in a faerie war taking place in Minneapolis.
Snape's development as a human being was apparently shaped by the brutality he experienced at the hands of Potter and his company during his years as a student at Hogwarts. This torment and bullying most likely occurred every day for years, and we never get a clear reason why it was overlooked by the faculty. But we…
The A.I. was made of stars.
So...no one talking about 70's Phoenix in there? No one?
My heart broke.
To be fair, it wasn't until after Crisis on Infinite Earths that H&D's powers were actually quantified to that degree. Before Kesel, their powersets were ill-defined along with their one-dimensional personalities.
