When I had my head shaved I went to a barbershop. I loved it. Quick service, a great cut, and way cheaper than going to a salon. Plus I didn’t have to deal with the smell of perm and acrylic.

It’s a general business and isn’t allowed to discriminate by sex, race, etc. Private clubs, like gyms, can be male or female only because they’re not open to the public. If the barber shop wants to be men only as a rule, they need to reclassify themselves as a private club and have people become members.

It’s likely that a coworker complained that she wasn’t pulling her weight during drinks service. If the other tasks were necessary and she was essentially doing things that helped it’s one thing.
