I agree with this sentiment. As long as women are getting the same percentage of revenue generated by their respective competitions/leagues, then I don’t see what the complaint is. The best way to give women’s sports a bigger piece of the pie is to grow the pie, through avid support both in person (buying game

Yes, I agree, women who play professional sports should be fairly compensated. And the disparity between losing in the first round of the men’s FIFA World Cup and winning the women’s FIFA World Cup should not be so stark - particularly for an organization wit h so much money running around. HOWEVER, some of the reason

Also did this upthread but some things bear repeating.

I didn’t want kids at my wedding but my now husband gave me a heartbroken look when I said that so I pivoted and not only welcomed kids but hired two sitters to watch the kids and we even had a playground at our venue and reminded parents to bring a change of clothes for their kids. I’m around 5’2” and I really don’t get your sentiment here. Just as short women face their own problems and annoyances and being told that they’re “so cute” and “little” or whatever, very tall women face their own set of problems. Didn’t know that this was the Battle of the Heights.

I’m also 5’10. And this very phenomenon is exactly why I am Team No Reclining on Airplanes.

100 percent. I love being a “giant” but it was super difficult growing up like that and there is still a lot of shit we have to deal with being larger than the average woman. Don’t appreciate the snark either.

I don’t understand the snark (“gripe” “tall people problems”). Being a tall woman in a society that idealizes female daintiness, portrays women who are taller than men as threats and ineligible for romantic relationships, and even cautions us not to take up too much physical space can be emotionally taxing.
