Sure, but then he has her watch Attack of the Clones, and then she uses the bond that they form in hating the movie to distract him and escape, and then I want to say she fights him with a sword? What I’m saying is that it’s ludicrously over the top. If you didn’t find it funny, I get that, it’s pretty silly but it’s…
He means my lady parts.
Half in the Bag is still good!
That being said, I see exactly where you’re coming from. When my husband watched the prequel reviews, he loved all the analysis but didn’t understand why there was all this weird, gross stuff.
I read an interview with Mike where he says he started out doing the Star Trek movie reviews in his own voice, and realized it was a) boring and b) he sounded like a pretentious douche nerd. So Plinkett was supposed to be an amusing depiction of a terrible youtube movie critic, but one that actually made good points…
Are we the same person?
Ha, no you can say it. And I mostly agreed with the things mentioned in the review, they just didn’t bother me as much as they did Mike (especially some of the military tactical stuff—that all just went over my head). Anecdotally, I’ve noticed that people who were more into the EU and other related Star Wars-y stuff…
I dunno, this latest Plinkett review has some nitpicking but I’ve learned quite a bit about the actual craft of filmmaking from RLM and wholeheartedly appreciate them for it.
This one was definitely the most nitpicky of all the Plinkett reviews. I think there just wasn’t enough to say about this one without getting into nitpicking.

These headlines just write themselves.
My head canon is that Leo was just the catalyst for her to get out and follow her own dreams. I mean, she did marry someone else.
We do not, thank you very much!
Me too!
I’ve been quoting “Who is driving? Bear is driving!!” for so long now I’d forgotten where it actually came from.
I know it’s already been answered, but yeah dude, all supplements (at least in the US) are snake oil. They aren’t regulated by the FDA. They might not even be the type of snake oil listed on the bottle!
Doesn’t matter cause we’re gonna jaaaaaam
But...isn’t this kind of article the point of the AV Club? To give different perspectives on pop culture? Pilot Viruet might have a different take. AA Dowd might have yet another one. They’re all people from different backgrounds approaching art, and yet somehow you want to see only the ‘correct’ way (which doesn’t…
I think that’s more xenophobic.
