I’m pretty sure there’s an option to cycle through HUD elements to get an explanation of what each one means. It’s probably another example of the game failing to explain something, but I think I stumbled into this feature the other day. I’d check now to be sure, but I’m at work.

Not only does the character generator allow for beautiful monstrosities, but the fashion (souls) is topnotch. I’ve found some pretty interesting pieces myself, but I’ve also seen people walking around with pig masks and what I’m pretty sure is a shield made from a mushroom cap.

I read an article yesterday about how Elden Ring gets elevators right. I don’t remember which site (most likely Kotaku, RPS, or Polygon), but it’s amazing to me that it came a day after I found a small unassuming building in the woods, a building the article actually mentions, stepped on a lever, and took an elevator

That commercial was way more exciting than the game.

I have the same problem with L3. Not just in this game, but any game that maps crouch to L3. I don’t think you can change it, either.

These days, if I’m not playing Elden Ring, I’m thinking about Elden Ring. Where I’ll be going next. What was on the other side of that hill? How do I open that door? What’s in the area of the map I haven’t been to yet? What will the next boss look like?

For no reason at all, I was thinking of him the other night. I hadn’t seen him on TV in years, maybe 10 or more, but I was trying to remember the name of the guy who would do horrifying magic tricks and then joke that it’s just a trick. I’m not one for prop comedy or (cringe) magic comedy, but the Amazing Jonathan

I recently rewatched all of Seinfeld and really enjoyed most of it. Now I’m watching Curb Your Enthusiasm for the first time (I’ve seen a few episodes before this) and it’s largely predictable garbage. There’s a few good laughs, but it’s mostly Larry acting irrationally, people responding to him irrationally, and

Someone would call him out. He would apologize, and the Esport Team he belonged to would say something about freedom of speech and he would still have a job. What she said wasn’t nice. But she shouldn’t be fired.

From what I’ve heard so far about this game, the only issue I’m having with playing it instantly is that it comes just a week before Elden Ring. No way I’ll be able to hold off playing that until I beat Horizon: Forbidden West, which means I’ll put H:FW aside, forget how to play, then never beat it.

I wonder if that’s what drew me away from them for so long. I was always aware of their channel, but it actually took Abigail Thorn’s (PhilosophyTube’s) video on them for me to give them a chance. Glad I did!

Great to see this article on James Stephanie! While they definitely seem to beat the same drum often, I think it’s necessary. If you haven’t seen (what I consider to be) their magnum opus, “The Predatory Cost of Video Game Monetization”, I highly recommend it. Whenever it seems like they’re spending too much time a

My god, I usually see some more thoughtful comments here, but it seems like a lot of people are cherry-picking or willfully misunderstanding this article. It seems obvious that the writer is discussing their exasperation at their own culture always being shown through the lens of outsiders. She mentions several times

This is why I still like “Best of...” lists. I’ve never heard of Fuga: Melodies of Steel, and now I can’t wait to give it a try!

Can’t wait to play the new Shadow Tactics DLC. I absolutely loved the main game. Weirdly, I could never get into Desperados 3. Or at least not enough to beat it. It’s very similar, but I guess the old West just doesn’t do it for me as a setting.

Most surprising here is the lack of an Ubisoft apology, which means people like Yves Guillemot are have been riding this shit out and receiving zero consequences for over a year now.

While I admire the will to buck trends in order to make a game more realistic, I’m going to have to pass on this one. Especially considering that I’m currently working my way through Final Fantasy III and older CRPGs like Eschalon: Book One with a goal of eventually understanding and playing Ultima IV. I’ve got enough

I would love to beat Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, but I probably won’t. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the game, but when I’m over 90 hours in and introduced to a new, big (kind of annoying to navigate) hub area with new NPCs and quests, the fatigue starts to set in. It’s been a few weeks since I picked

Just a technicality in the rules. Since the player can’t make a legal move when it’s their turn, the game is drawn. Not sure who made the rule, but it’s just the way it is. Definitely sucks for the player who should have won, though!

I haven’t heard of Solar Ash before, but this looks kinda good. I liked playing Hyper Light Drifter, but got bored of it after a while. Definitely going to check this one out, though.
