I’ve thought about picking up Final Fantasy XV again. I haven’t played since its original release. I have a platinum trophy for it, but I never felt the need to go back after all the changes and DLC. I liked it enough, but it’s probably the Final Fantasy entry I feel least connected to. I think some of this has to do

I think the streamlined nature of The Outer Worlds was one of my favorite things about it. If it was 60 hours or so, I never would have played a second or third playthrough. I get the appeal of exploration in Fallout: New Vegas games like it, but it always takes me so much longer to get to a point in those games where

I’ll be continuing my long-delayed first playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 2 this weekend. It’s a little strange in that it’s hard for me actually decide to start playing, but once I do, I can’t put it down. Every sidequest I’ve encountered so far is more than a mere extra box to check, and they seem to actually expand my

Yeah, I get that, and I’m sure you’re right. I’ve heard that from a lot of people. But I’m already invested in BG’s story, whereas it’ll take me some time to become immersed in P:T’s story.

That’s 2 weeks in a row now where I can’t really engage with the article since they’re fandoms I just don’t understand. That’s not to say there’s nothing good about Pokemon or Dragonball Z, but they’re just not for me.

Well, I did it. I finally beat Baldur’s Gate! After who know how many attempts over many years, I beat the final boss. I’m glad I was able to do this, and I actually feel like I accomplished something. I played on normal, and nothing really gave me too much difficulty until the final boss. Even things that did give me

Yeah, I’ve got them all in various sales, and that one’s next. I might just decide to play Planescape at some point, but for some reason I feel like I have to play in order of release, even though I’ve never even finished Baldur’s Gate, despite several attempts.

I might do this eventually, but I can’t be trusted with cheat engines. I’ll first use it just to jump from one end of the map to the other, then I’ll give myself some potions to get through a tough fight, and before I know it, I’ll be giving myself some god-tier weapon which’ll ruin the experience.

Speaking of backlogs, I’m attempting Baldur’s Gate for the umpteenth time. I’ve had varying degrees of success over the years, playing sometimes for and hour or two before moving on to another game, sometimes up to 15 or 20 hours. I don’t know, I think I like the idea of CRPGs more than I like actually playing them.

Well played.

Add: Return of the Jedi ruined Star Wars. (I mean, you wrote Ewoks, but I thought I’d expand it.)

You wrote it better than I could have, but I was afraid of this when I heard they weren’t going to have Rian Johnson back. At least I’ll always have The Last Jedi.

I would like to put in my suggestion for Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance on this list. It’s a technical marvel, but that was almost a given. It also tells an engaging story with plenty fully realized characters. They’re not all winners, but most of actor/puppeteer pairings were excellent. I mean, I get the sense after

It did kind of suck to have to basically label and keep tabs on what games were saved on which cards. Unless, of course, you had the the memory card that was actually 72 memory cards in one like I did. Although even then was annoying to find the right game if you didn’t keep a log.

I’ve got to make my way back to this game at some point. It was frustrating in all the right ways. But I gave up early without realizing I was giving up until it was too late. I feel like I’ll be ready soon to give it another try.

Hey, that story with the memory card happened to me! Except I was the one who rented the Playstation (for free from the video store I worked at, probably pissing off dozens of people) and didn’t buy a memory card. I did just leave it on all night and buy one the next day, though, so I didn’t lose any play time.

I recently picked up Frostpunk again after a while away. When it first came out, I played it a lot and ended up getting most of the trophies, survival mode trophies not included. I decided to just play through the campaign again on normal since it’s been so long. That may have been a mistake as it’s quite easy (though

Nobody else star this!!

I thought all Gervais did anymore was search for his name on Twitter, find something negative about himself, and then brag about how he has more followers than the person who tweeted.

Games definitely get quicker the more familiar you are with the rules (and the less players you have). That first game is the most difficult hump to get over. I imagine it could turn people off if they think all games will take that long. It’s a good thing the board looks so damn cool with all the miniatures and
