I know, even just wearing a decent shirt feels like updressing in certain environments. I guess wearing a suit today would be the equivalent of showing up in a t-shirt 10 years a ago? Not that I feel the need to make a statement.

Useful, didn't know that.

Good question. I found a decent jacket goes a long way. Still, with fewer people using suits, it would make you stand out?

Ok I give up, my mistake for feeding the troll.

It's a good question, I don't think we show enough appreciation... In my case the ones I use most, Gmail, Dropbox, Wordpress... LibreOffice Calc and Writer but not Impress... I just tried exporting a Keynote (free with Mavericks, yes!) presentation to Quicktime, which failed (boo!) so it doesn't quite make the cut...

Interesting!

Good tips! My only doubt, as in I don't know what's the best setup, is with respect to the reflector bouncing the light from the bottom to the top.

No one likes Windaz, they only suffer it. And if you were able to read you'd see I'm praising Toshiba and Asus. Takes all sorts.

Oh it wasn't a criticism of the photo! It's just that full frame has become this aspirational thing when it has certain technical advantages which need to be fully appreciated.

It's a desirable camera for sure, but as the article says, it has its quirks; the lens issue is a serious one. Had I ever bought the one lens in the lineup that makes drool (not that there aren't other great lenses, they just produce less saliva in me), the 135 STF, I'm not sure I wouldn't be cursing Sony to force me

Out of focus? An example of why full frame isn't always best... I mean the bicycle.

Ooooohh fried plantain chips by the boatload gaaaaahhh.

Useful! If I worked for Ubuntu that's what I would call my installation disk, and automatically install it in dual boot...

Good article. Now, taking into consideration what crap Windows is, that makes Asus and Toshiba particularly good hardware wise? I mean apparently they break down less than Macs, even though they sport the undisputed king of unreliability Windaz! I'm not a fan of either, just saying, what if they had invested in a

Phone + Computer + Walkman (no, not the cassette type). Luckily the macbook air 11 makes this light, but I'd love to take my full on DSLR everywhere too. Add that and a bottle of water and it becomes a pain to carry.

Ok probably silly, asinine is a little strong? (Sheesh).

Sorry but no... All producers have an incentive to make their products look good, some will have a background of professionalism, honesty and pride in their work, others will do "whatever it takes" and will make this sort of "study" part of their day to day marketing. In the US in particular you have both mindsets,

Interesting. I am deeply averse to haggling, to me it's tantamount to dishonesty, so any deal is off the table if I simply distrust the other party. I realize haggling is ingrained in many cultures... That doesn't make it any more palatable, but there is a further point: I'd rather trust the person and discuss all the

Similar experience here: Long time firefox user, then it just became slow, switched to chrome... Stayed only because of custom I guess. Plus I'm curious to see if a chromebook would work out for me.

Filed under "I'm an idiot, why didn't I think of this before" and "wow, there really is a a product for everything". I am constantly getting painful blisters, new shoes or not.
