@Mxx: windows doesn't handle anything well, but I feel your pain. A user had somehow changed her dpi setting in xp years ago, and when out primary application upgraded*, it broke all UI elements. I set the dpi back to stock and now she complains that she can't read it.

xbmc all the way. Linux support is number 1 on my list, and xbmc matches it and all of my other requirements perfectly.
