While you make an excellent point, I think you are looking at it from the wrong perspective.

I think it’s more about the fact that they started out thoroughly mediocre and most of us didn’t think months ago they had a chance to win it all. Is anyone saying they were being widely doubted over the past two weeks? I don’t think so.
