The way Mahoney delivers that line, with his eyes going big, is a prime example of why he was so good.

Yes. Totally different energy than Shaggy or the killer in Scream.

Well he was a revelation to me in Twin Peaks. The interrogation room scene with Tammy - oh my goodness. “No one has ever seen anything like it! But it was real, I promise!” I didn’t know he could be that good, and I see him totally differently now.

The most annoying example of this from my personal experience were people insisting the end of “There Will Be Blood” was a dream because 1.) Daniel Plainview was sleeping at the beginning of the sequence and 2.) Eli’s hair was different.

Kinda feel like that was a tongue-in-cheek “theory,” honestly.

...and Coppola, I guess. Though he might not be making movies anymore.

Hmm. I think she’s really good there.

Being into hardcore porn, whatever the lurid import, is not really on the same level of “supporting a child molester,” which is what some people who want Allen erased from society argue for.

She’s definitely a highlight of that one.

I see what you did there.

Yep, that’s the difference.

Seems like you care a lot.

Sallah saves the day in the tank scene, and also recognizes the Gestapo guys immediately. He’s not a buffoon, IMO.

The Hitler scene is a highlight. The underground fuel sequence was also awesome. I don’t know what you folks are talking about.

The ending of Infernal Affairs is a moral and thematic cop-out which The Departed improved upon immensely. Only way to read it, IMO.

Hahahahahaha. No.

Yeah he’s good in that and it’s a good movie.

“Bad guy wins and that is edgy” is Infernal Affairs’ ending. It doesn’t work as well as The Departed’s statement about the infallibility of moral guilt. I think you should rewatch Scorsese’s film, because you’re giving short shrift to a good amount of characterization on the Sullivan character.

Quality of the films. The Departed is superior in every way.

Infernal Affairs is the rough draft. Awful slow motion, easy, pat ending.
