Was Hacksaw Ridge acclaimed? Yes, I know it got Oscar noms, but I thought the going concern was that those nominations were a result of the unexpected box office success.
I hope those upstanding citizens aren’t unfairly smeared because of the meme association.
I don’t find it hard to believe in the least.
She also distances herself from Ratner by being an actually good filmmaker.
That’s my favorite DJ Sallenjer book.
While that is a plot hole, I accepted it as yet another well-used trope. The question that bothered me was, “how do they get the monsters back in their holding cells after a successful mission?” Obviously they don’t have control over them once they are out.
Stop deflecting, Trump supporter.
Yea I’ve always thought CinemaSins was awful. What is really hilarious is that there are many logical/story errors in Cabin in the Woods that could be lampooned, but the people focused on the tropes element. They aren’t even good at their professed job!
What an arbitrary, reductive and silly thing to say.
Cool.
Yea, Spartacus is an excellent movie. The lack of “Kubrickean” texture is not really a demerit - I love that stuff, but the movie works without it.
And I think Cruise is really good in the movie.
I remember the Season 3 sketch from Upright Citizens Brigade - “Moleman, is this about ‘Eyes Wide Shut?’ I just didn’t think it was one of Kubrick’s best! We can see it again!”
All of his movies, except Full Metal Jacket and arguably Spartacus, were “one of his best.”
No. No part of Barry Lyndon needed to be cut.
2007 was a stacked year, but yeah the complete oversight of Zodiac is good “no reason to take Oscars seriously” fodder.
I think he’s mad/disappointed because he thought Graysmith might be coming onto him.
“Are you sure there’s no one else in the house?”
Really surprised “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” wasn’t the pick from the Twilight Zone movie. I thought the going concern on that was that the other three segments were bad and Miller’s finale was the only worthwhile part (other than the prologue with Brooks and Aykroyd). Maybe AV Club wanted to avoid that cliched reading…
