Ah! Sorry then!
Ah! Sorry then!
Best depends heavily on the kind of training you'd like to do and what types of movement you feel you can execute well. I have a strong preference towards martial arts with a focus on grappling (e.g. judo and jujitsu). Many situations where you need to defend yourself will end up on the ground, so that wrestling…
That actually isn't terribly uncommon in Egypt, at least not in Cairo when I was there. Most women wear a hijab, but it's not as universal as you'd think. I also saw a lot who wore more stylized scarfs.
Very true. And given their tendency to rip from the headlines, that is incredibly depressing.
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure there are already at least 3 SVU episodes that are passably similar to this case.
While I agree that there are crank 911 calls, the fact that there were several reports of similar events, all from different people, should have warranted further investigation. Otherwise, that would be a very odd coincidence or some extremely well planned pranksters.
I blame a lot of it on insurance. Meds (ESPECIALLY methylphenidate) are cheap, therapy is expensive, so they really hate paying for it. I also wish there were more restrictions on GPs prescribing psychiatric medications. I suppose there are probably major issues with access as well.
Yeah, because it's not like weed is a psychotropic agent that acts on the endogenous cannabinoid system, right?
I don't really have an opinion in psychologists vs psychiatrists. My field of expertise is more neurotox/epid, so I don't know as much about clinical stuff. However, from what I do know, I've always thought the most appropriate use of meds in most common disorders is basically to get you ready for some kind of talk or…
Ah, okay. That's a little out of my field, so the numbers seemed odd since I'm not as familiar with that area. I knew about the BMI requirement for AN and had always taken issue with it, so I'm glad to see that go.
I read through the linked articled from Psychology Today, and I have to say that it seems the problems are more in problematic definitions and poorly application of definitions than it is the disorders themselves. Like, binge eating disorder is certainly a thing, but the definition presented is arbitrary, much in the…
Actually, it would be better if people got to see a psychiatrist at all. Overwhelmingly, psychiatric medications are prescribed by general practitioners, particularly for common issues (depression, ADHD).
That's what I was coming here to say. The fact the increased incidence rate is coupled with a decrease in mortality rates is highly suggestive that it's basically just a screening thing.
I give this speech on here a lot, but here it goes.
So I'm re-watching that movie now.
Yeaaaah, that tends to be a thing with this fairy tale. I've noticed that pretty much every single modern version of the story figures out some way for Cinderella and Prince whats-his-face to at least chat before the big ball. Hell, fanfic writers get this right.
For real. Toxin has a very specific meaning, and it is not how people use it. I get twitchy and am like TOXICANT! YOU MEAN TOXICANT, DAMN IT!!
Minor corrections: organic mercury is excreted to the hair. Lead ends up in the bones and can end up back in the blood stream if you get pregnant (maternal bone structure is resorbed to provided materials for the fetal skeleton).
Given that One Direction's entire oeuvre is basically them attempting to neg their fans, I'd imagine he'd find that scene quite poignant indeed.
This.
