What surprises me is that no one pointed out that her therapist encourages maladaptive daydreaming about fictional characters and projecting/obsessing over celebrities.

First of all, your therapist is wrong. Every woman experiences misogyny in one or several of its many forms. That’s reality and nothing to sugarcoat or single you out for. Your experience is in no way exceptional.

She should maybe try to stick to the validating your feelings part. Personally, I don’t really trust men anymore, and that’s based on the evidence. I mean Jesus Fucking Christ- do you know a single woman who has not been harassed, assaulted, or objectified by men? What is she even talking about?

I finally landed a job! A few months before I graduated in June, I got struck with “uh, what am I going to do with my life after I graduate?” and it’s been one long mental breakdown ever since. I slipped into the worst depression of my life and I applied for this job at 3 AM thinking I would never be considered for it

so I think there are some women who, through luck and personality, escape the terribly misogynistic world we live in relatively unscathed.

You never got harassed or objectified? Catcalled by adult men when you were well underage? Had a man follow you down the street after dark clearly knowing he’s making you nervous? It’s hard for me to imagine a woman not having experienced this stuff, at least a little. (To be clear I consider myself lucky—touch

Thank you for saying this. I’ve never met a woman that doesn’t have at least one story. Not assault necessarily but objectification for sure. If my therapist said that to me I’d find it depressing. And wonder why me? Did I do something wrong, what was I broadcasting?

I told my female therapist about my experiences being harassed, assaulted and objectified, and she told me these things do not happen to all women

She is a parasite.

Why did you get banned?!?!? That’s a load of malarkey.

All this “watching a pregnant woman” is super creepy.

Jesus you guys. This is GOOD. Just let it be good.

I, for one, blame Tom Cruise for 2016, as he didn't make an endorsement either.

The power of Taylor Swift’s statement is very much in how local it was. I doubt even if she’d done anything this public in 2016, it’d have been anywhere near as effective. And people were complaining about the timing, but I think posting it so close to the registration deadline is what got people to actually register

Uh, where was Taylor Swift during the 2016 presidential election?

Yep...it is zero.

Even more than that, call/text/email folks you know in Texas, TN, and anywhere there is a close race, and hound them until they register to vote (the deadline is tomorrow in Texas), and then hound them to actually vote in November (or early voting).

GO FUCKING VOTE.

Last time I went to Knoebels, it was pretty insane. So much poverty in the surrounding area, they’re in a demographic getting hit as hard, if not harder, than anyone, and yet the idiots still slobber over Dotard in between hits on the meth pipe.
