As a South Florida resident I feel I should clarify that there is nowhere down here where you are legally allowed to drive on the sand, so don’t buy a Jeep thinking that off road capability will be useful. Ground clearance can be helpful when all the roads are flooded though. Also it is usually 90 degrees in the shade…
All of these suggestions completely suck. #1 and #2 are not fancy enough, and #3 is a death trap no reasonable parent would rely on as a safe vehicle for their child, and #4 - would it even take a booster seat? Egress/ingress would be terrible, too.
These are all terrible suggestions. Those that dress up nice aren’t fuel efficient. Those that are fuel efficient don’t dress up nice.
HD and his wife have more than enough of a budget to get something that hits it out of the park on fuel efficiency and versatility: A new Santa Fe PHEV. The top spec model starts at around $45,000. Hyundai is obviously not a prestigious brand, but you can get them with enough features to leave you feeling pampered.…
Going to be driving more and gas is going maybe to $7. And it will be carrying precious cargo. First look at BEV or hybrids with superior safety ratings. Then go from there.
South Florida?
Wouldn’t the Santa Cruz be better than the Baja? At least when it comes to dressing up?
The Jeep and the Baja don’t cut it. Neither dresses up well. The Land Rover does work - a very, British Aristocrat sort of sensibility to it. I actually think you could go with an older with a Defender 90 or 110. Just get a tweed jacket, a Viszla hunting dog and a pipe. You might look out of place in Florida, but…
Volvo V90 Cross Country starts at $56k. Join the wagon life.
These are all... terrible suggestions. A Jeep Wrangler as something “fun to drive” before making a long road trip? A Subaru Baja on a $60,000 budget and wants something that cleans up for cocktail parties? A 2-door Range Rover with a family of three and needs something to carry a bike?
BEES FORKS
This particular email is actually not all that bad - I mean, sure, rah rah cheer leading to finish the quarter strong in a big push is not really a sign of strength, but it’s not anywhere near his usual level of WTF-is-he-thinking BS. Thing is, though - it still doesn’t speak well to Tesla being in a position of…
Once we have a big correction, fed rates are 3.5+%, and gas is $6/gal no one is going to be buying $60k trucks.
We’ve been due for a correction of some sort. Gas can’t stay “cheap” (~2-3/gallon) forever. I can’t believe people just kept buying all the cars and SUVs as if gas was going to be the same price as milk for the next 10 years.
No, the only people buying Teslas are relatively rich people.
No, not rich people. A used Bolt is only $18k-20k and other older tech city cars are sub $10k.
Stop electing morons.
Feel bad for any women in your life.
