I just traded this in after 2 Years and 26,000 Miles. My choices were between a 2008 Subaru Legacy GT Stick with 70,000 Miles, or a Volvo S60R Stick with 46,000 Miles and every feature (Legacy was base, besides leather and sunroof). They were both the same price.

I didn't buy a GT.

I used to own a 2007 BMW X3si, and it happened to me as well. If you look at BMW's gear-shifter setup prior to the new ones they use, they use a sort of leather-baggish design that gives it more of an upscale look.

That's what I originally thought. However, you will notice that it has front and rear bumper mounted reflectors while the Lincoln does not.
