Good post, Tim. I’ve been trolling CL for several months now looking for ‘the one drillpress’. Hasn’t happened, but if I may suggest a couple of things to look for in addition to your list:

Bought the Carbon back in January, and I totally love it. Easy setup, easy to use, sounds great. Should mention, I bought mine through eBay Canada, which had it for about $40 less than eBay US (exchange rate/tax differences). If you don’t mind a few days extra for customs, it’s worth the wait.
