Hey Ari...THANK YOU! Really..honestly...THANK YOU!

I’ll add “What lies in the multiverse” to the list as a puzzle platformer with a nice story. 98% positive reviews in Steam (out of 170ish reviews, so it didn’t get much attention). It’s not a perfect game, but if you’re into puzzle platformer games, it’s worth your time :).

Top quality journalism. I love articles like this.

Now THIS is a quality article! This is some good shit! Thanks for the read.

Came to the comments to suggest this. So happy it still has a fanbase who want resolution.

Pirates of Dark Water

These retrospectives are excellent, and need to become a regular thing, Peter. Bravo on another great one.

Peter, I’ve never found a writer whose taste in games mirrors mine as much as yours does, so I always make it a point to read through your articles when I see them. Great write-up, keep them coming.

I’ve got no problem going long on a phone call with friends. But gaming legit kept friendships alive over long distance. It was also super helpful in exposing flaws in our friendships. A match of Dota can work like a microcosm of how communication works in the friendship as a whole. With my closest friends it helped

Thank you SnotHouse!

Just wanted to say this is really outstanding reporting. I love reading in-depth reports like this and hope we continue to see more in the future here. I know these types of articles are a lot more expensive, time-consuming, and probably not as well-read as some other content, but this is what I come to this site for.

This is a terrific article. Really well done.

Naw, what really changed, and unfortunately what the article missed, is that the computing power needed for gaming has plateaued. This means that a company can buy the computer hardware for their cafe and expect it to be good for another 3-4 years for most games.

You’d be surprised. Some of the best memories I have are of LAN centers in the early 00s. They were dark and grimy, but at the end of the day, it is a bunch of people with a common interest getting together to play games and having a blast. There’s plenty of socializing after matches and on breaks and whatnot. People

It’s the ‘accuracy’ fallacy when it comes to live adaptations. You are correct though, the colors play a big part of it.

I’m the reverse engineer who did the fan translation in 1997 with two friends of mine. I know you think that Butz is a silly name, and I agree, but that’s what it is. His name in Japanese is バッツ (battsu), not バーツ (ba-tsu) as it would be if Bartz were intended. Various Japanese documents also showed his name in Latin

A 16 year old doesn’t need to be beaten up for doing something dumb. No-one does. Fuck off.

Patch to have Jason finish his Retro Final Fantasy reviews since he stopped after his Sabbatical...

I really enjoy your articles Cecilia. Your one of the better writers on Kotaku, keep up the good work ;)
