Do you know for sure that they don't? Because I've seen tons of conversion vans outfitted with fender flares w/ off-road conversions that easily stretched the beam holding the door, allowing it to still slide open but just out further to clear the flare.

Shit. You might be right! But I can't see it still not working as a sliding door. It's easy to have it open and slide out further to clear that fender flare.

Tracks are above the door at the roof line and below that rear window. So it still slides.
