Rant time. I’m a PhD student working as a TA at my small school. It’s a seminary/graduate school, so all my students are MA or MDiv. Note that both have the letter M for Master. Well, it’s a small school, and it’s in constant financial difficulty, so lately they’ve been trying to expand by doing a lot of interfaith

That’s an odd question.

Because you have too much time on your hands and you're looking for things to be offended about.

It’s frightening that people like you walk the earth.

You’re rather missing my point.

Suicide is never that simple, and your disdain for their parents doesn’t justify harassment and abuse of the family.

You’re not well.

You should work on your reading comprehension.

Because I know something about adolescent psychology, I know that it’s never as simple as you seem to believe. She didn’t die “because of how her parents treated her,” she died because she was a sad, confused, frightened child.

No, not so much.

Actually, her suffering ended when she died. It’s tragic that she felt there was no other way, but that tragedy affected her and her family. It didn’t affect you, or any of those who chose to harass and abuse the family.

You sound like an awful person.

Because I don’t think it’s my place to tell other people how to mourn their own child?

I find how they choose to remember their child to be their business, not mine, regardless of whether I, you, or either of our trans friends would have done the same.

You have issues.

I don’t think they should be harassed and threatened, but misgendering her after her death was not cool.

Also a function of world wars. The ideas, music, methods of artistic expression, countless wonderful things that American soldiers brought back with them from the wars and that greatly enriched their lives and ours ... are people trying to say that all this was a matter of them saying, "Oh, this is nice. Let's take

give me a break little social warrior. Isn't there some more important battle you can fight?

So what? Are people from one ethnic background forbidden from enjoying artifacts from cultures nowhere in their immediate lineage? Someone go tell all those little Asian kids being forced to take violin lessons — I'm sure they'll be thrilled to get their Saturday mornings back, although their parents might be kind

Please tell me that was a joke.
