You do realize, of course, almost half the state’s population is blue, and that the areas that are gonna get hardest hit this weekend are the bluest, and that it’s not the desires of their constituency that keeps those people in office, it’s gerrymandering and abuse of power.
Corpus Christi is directly in the line of fire, and its county (Nueces) was pretty evenly split in the last election (I would hazard a guess that the city itself voted predominantly democratic).
