“I really want to play more Soulslike games that aren’t From Software (they just scare me okay?).

It’s incredibly frustrating because I wanted to like it so damn much. I’ve been DYING for a brand new SSX or 1080 for at least a decade now. Even though I went in actively wanting to like it, I couldn’t make everything click. Just a frustrating experience all around

I loved the shit out of that ‘X-Men’ opening sequence. The music, the roll-call of characters using their powers, the villains appearing. Honestly, I’m not sure anything in any of the episodes lived up to the awesomeness of that opening.

Sometimes I’ll go back and play the puzzles again if I’m stuck on something at work. Helps to get the brain thinking logically.

Recently did a bit of a binge on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I’m still very early in the game, but I’ve got my students in proper classes and managed to get through a big fight without losing a single one (though of course I’m on Casual.) The problem with playing this in bed is before you know it, five hours have

If “techno spy thriller” is all one term, then you don’t really need a comma between that and “tepid” because tepid is describing the techno spy thriller.

Salutations~! ^^

I love the scene of Sister Michael trapped in conversation with Uncle Colm.

Most importantly: Sister Michael is the absolute greatest.

I'm not about to defend White House Down as an unquestionable classic, but I remember it being a perfectly fun, competent movie.

One of them has Jimmi Simpson as the bad guy and is a better Die Hard than at least two of the actual Die Hards. I’m impressed you can spend 38 minutes even trying to pretend it's not obvious White House Down is the better (or at least more fun) movie.

Christ the lore feels like a chore this time around. It was amusingly silly in Doom 2016, you were sort of impressed that they bothered throwing that much background guff into a Doom game, and the conceit that the player’s intention is captured in the character of the Doom Marine was a delight: I really enjoyed the

Doom Eternal is the best Platinum game not made by Platinum. Currently in like Mission 5 I guess and I’m really enchanted in the world building for a game where I’m not supposed to care about, really.

Still making my way through Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which is shaping up to a real gem, just like its predecessor, Blind Forest. The platforming is complex without being full-on masocore, and combat actually feels somewhat flexible. It controls really well and is actually the rare 2D platformer that’s better on

The 2014 Wolfenstein game is still my favorite id reboot series. It does the best job with retro shooter gameplay and modern storytelling. DOOM 2016 is great, although pretty simplistic once you master the arenas once or twice. Wolfenstein II and DOOM Eternal don’t live up to their originals.

I think it helped that I played Ico first so I had a sense of redemption coming for that asshole hero. (also the flying desert colossus is majestic and I felt super shitty about killing it)

It took me literally seven refreshes to get the comments section to load. FIX YOUR SHIT, KINJA. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Right now The Witcher 3 is scratching my itch for a good game to get lost in. A nice well rendered world, lots of quests to do, combat is challenging but I may yet not suck at it. Also like the writing, it’s a bit more subtle than the average and Geralt works well as a character (though that’s also partly due to his

Warframe. Always Warframe.

There’s a mod in Fallout 4 that replaces several items with Toilet Paper just so you know:
