The Last Guardian, for all its flaws, is my favorite of the Ico trilogy. For what’s it’s worth, I played them all in order on release (although I think I was a few months late playing Ico, I still played it well before the release of Shadow of the Colossus), and loved them all through multiple playthroughs, The Last…
Ah, thanks for pointing this out!
Baseball, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Soccer, Super Dodge Ball, Tecmo Bowl, NES Open Tournament Golf, Pro Wrestling. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the absolute peak of world design and attention to detail in a game and then the absolute nadir of mission design. Still, I would play 100 stupid missions in a row if I get more of Arthur Morgan’s world weary headshaking and “what have we got ourselves into now” attitude. Love that dude.
goddammit... I was. d’oh.
Let’s talk about giving up on things! In a really round about way.
What Have You Finished This Week?
Last weekend was my birthday so I went to the local tabletop game store- picked up two sci-fi RPGs I’ve been looking at, Fragged Empire and the official Flash Gordon rpg- which is actually more a sourcebook for Savage Worlds (who interestingly enough had already published a setting heavily inspired by Flash Gordon and…
I’ve played a little more Iconoclasts and it’s been okay so far. I think the issue with Hollow Knight must have been the timing. You could attack multiple times while airborne - this method could be used to jump over areas that it would have other been hazardous or deadly to land - so if you messed it up, you’d get…
I wish I had time/skill for more than #12in12. And Gameological will be getting my Finch thoughts throughout February at least.
Well, you still could go through and experience it anyway... (but yeah it sounds seriously depressing)
No, no one has ever enjoyed underwater levels. They’re even worse than sewer levels.
I always had War of Mine loaded on my steam account but could never pull the trigger and jump in for fear it was just going to be too depressing. Reading your account of what happened makes me feel like I was right in that it’d be a downer but that I should’ve gone through and experienced it anyway.
The Terror absolutely should be getting those awards. AV Club’s reviews weren’t exaggerated, every episode was an A.
Let’s see, very briefly played a bit of Subnautica, still need to find some lead to build the radiation suit. Saw that the current free game on the Epic Games store is Super Meat Boy, but I’m not really into masochistic platformer-type games. I don’t wanna be the guy. On the other hand, on the 10th, they switch over…
Over break I started and most likely have played as much as I’m going to play of Dragon Quest 7. Feel free to put me down into the innumerable Westerners who just don’t get it. The story is sub-children’s book and the combat is generic JRPG combat with an appreciated auto-pilot mode. Akira Toriyama’s character art is…
I finished RED DEAD 2 over Christmas and I’ve been in a “What do I play now?” fog since then. I loved every minute of that game and it was nearly all-encompassing for me, like it was my hobby for the past couple months. I started a new game shortly after finishing it, but it’s just not the same. Think I need to let it…
Here’s my thing: I don’t feel like one has to be a dad to relate to this. I can see the relationship I had with my father in this, and I can see the other side of it in a mature and reciprocating light.
