The levels are so short that getting back to a mission in a level can’t take more than 2 minutes. I found it generally much more pleasant than 3. I can’t stress enough how much I disliked the four side-characters and their controls (except the monkey, he was fine).

Good story. Your wrestling was me with my major in high school, doing Latin-Math. I hated math and sucked at it but my dad forced me to finish it. I even needed tutoring in the final year. But his thing was, this is when you learn to learn so stick with it. And he was right. Powering through that really increased my

I gotta say, I was impressed and surprised with how clever those Spyro 1 levels were. Compact but with enough hidden nooks and crannies to make you scour the whole thing.
Turns out you can have your firefly buddy point at missing gems. They never tell you this so when I saw this online, I was 95% through ... in Spyro

I remember Rusty Lake Hotel from when you mentioned it last year. Sounds like my kinda puzzle game.

With a few hours here and there, I’ve mostly relaxed with Spyro 3 or should I say, tried to relax until another mini-game shows up. After defeating the end boss, I realized it wasn’t the game but me. Because what do you get after collecting all the gems and eggs as a reward? A super bonus level! Filled with

Some of them are complicated but mostly, there’s just a lot to keep track of. I very much liked how the win-conditions are set out. Get a star in each category. Figure out what you want to go for based on your Character and Player Card strengths. I think there’s no fixed strategy.
I did see online that one or two

I just finished Iconoclasts a couple of weeks ago and that wasn’t really an issue for me. You do need it for enemies and getting into vents so I hope it’s not too much of an issue going forward.
The game makes you hold the button down when you want to drop down a floor so there was the need for two different controls.

Yeah, considering your experience with Valiant Hearts (which is MORE of a game than Burly Men At Sea is), I’d say don’t spend money on it. I got it with PS Plus and felt that was about the right price for it (not trying to be harsh, I liked it).

You still could like Chum says. Definitely worth playing. I recommend playing through it in a few sessions as quickly as possible. It’ll hit harder plus starting it up was the hardest for me. When you’re in the “build during day - scavenge at night” rhythm, it plays fairly quickly. When you let the game linger for

I’m really enjoying coming back to this thread and reading how much of a bummer my review was. I succeeded in conveying my experience!

In terms of ongoing games, I’ve started up Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. Was thinking about a bigger game but those are too daunting to start up on a weekday. Spyro 3, like the two before, is still fun and relaxing .... for the most part, meaning as long as I get to play as Spyro. Don’t care for any of the new

What games have you finished this week?
(preemptive shout-out to Chum for gracefully allowing me to post this in his stead)

I was going to start God of War in the last three days of my vacation after coming back from a great mountain hot spring (note to self: jeans and long johns are not -10 C appropriate apparel) but instead I started up a new round of This War Of Mine. Is it a fun game? Not necessarily. Is it a good game? Yes.
The way

Too bad you didn’t like Valiant Hearts that much. Interesting point on the familiarity with the subject or lack thereof adding value to the experience. The collectibles were definitely the best part. Don’t remember what I said about it in the past but I thought the puzzles were a bit better than the ones in Never

There are just so many good games, I can’t afford/allow myself to buy Mutant Year Zero but it looks and sounds great. Glad to read someone is playing it around here.

Excellent point on the main problem with the ending and Arthur’s ending. I wasn’t pleased at all, the fist fight felt dramatic and I thought it would lead to a sad but satisfying ending. I got to see Arthur die peacefully but it wasn’t satisfying, maybe that’s the point though. Maybe not killing Micah is Rockstar’s

From the trailer to its description, this is one of the few times I can say that Below absolutely is not a game for me. But all the more power to the people who do love it. Variety is a great thing and not everything has to appeal to everyone.

Thematically the epilogue works but in practice? Not so much. There’s one really poignant mission in there but I’m conflicted on that final mission. Stay tuned for more THOUGHTS on it next week.
Shouting thoughts like that, reminds me of Everything. Everything is only 10 or 15$, a steal for the experience and laughs

Oh, and two weeks later, I’m still in the Epilogue 2 of RDR2. It’s funny how completely obsessed I was with the game and now I’ve just moved past it. I still want to hunt some Legendary critters, finish my treasure hunts and see the sights but I think going so hard for those weeks has burned me out some. A small break

After a year or so, I picked up Everything again, the game by David O’Reilly. After several hours rolling around and floating through (micro-)universes, I thought I’d seen it all. TURNS OUT, I hadn’t even finished the tutorial. So I found the golden gate, dove in there for a meta-finale and went on my merry way. Not
