I also think that even after the diet, Garage 56's car is heavier than GTE cars and this will eat up the tires.

From what I have seen of the current generation Nascar cars, it would take a Bus getting on the track to do any significant damage to one.   I don’t think I’ve seen as tough a car in my life.

I am so completely hyped to watch this team run.

just lift the Celica and call it a day

Oof, $5k is a difficult budget to work with. I say any Rav4, CR-V, or Subaru you can find in your budget should work or just lift the Celica and call it a day.

...Also, don’t pick a random passenger. At least choose the seemingly most qualified. If we’re just drawing a random seat number that crying baby that’s already annoyed the whole cabin definitely doesn’t stand a chance to get us to a stop in one piece.

Up until a couple years ago I had a shoebox with boarding passes from every flight I'd ever taken. You never know when you might need an alibi.

I’ve never had the battery die on a piece of paper.

The answer is Morgan. Might not be able to get a brand new Plus 4 for under $70k, but recent, new ones are there.

I like that idea. Probably use them for some homeless too.

this would be a perfect garage mate to my ‘86 CRX Si. Gets a rock solid NP from me!

“Stuttgart will raise prices the world over even though its business is booming and order books are overflowing.”

If I had foxtrot uniform levels of cash, I would totally do this. Would outfit it with wireless networking (LTE with Starlink as a backup?) and work from the train while being towed behind any and all of the western trains (California Zephyr, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief, etc.) back and forth to Chicago.

Maybe do

Dear Ozark Mountain Railcar,

Orman’s whole thing is keeping your debt to a minumum and having a “balance” to your finances but when taken at face value her advice is to pay $600/mo on a 3 year old car, when someone who is probably a bit tight on the budget is going to find that not really feasable.  Wheras you finance that $20k at 60 months with

I get that but for those people this advice is still really unhelpful....buy a cheap car, but only 2-3 yrs old, and only finacne at 36 months, but try to get an EV. That person goes into the market and can’t really accomplish those objectives once they look at the actual prices and how it relates to a comfortable

Thank you, thank you, thank you, this is exactly the kind of informative, interesting and humane coverage I visit Jalopnik every morning for.

The main reason F1 is garbage in the U.S. is because the prices to see the race are insane. The Las Vegas grand prix grandstand tickets started at $2,500.

It was cheaper for me to fly to Belgium and get a 3-day pass for the race instead.

Let’s be honest, this has always been F1's problem. To become a real long-term F1 fan you REALLY have to be into the technical side of the sport, the chance your favorite driver/team will be competitive for a long period of time is virtually nil. Everyone wants to talk about the boring racing these days, but 2010-2014
