This is a brilliant comment - as a Western NY resident, I cringed from the truth.

Thank you!

My ‘55 has a cool two-tone scheme that is a nice hybrid between a uniform color and the more aggressive contrast of two completely disparate colors.

That is a fair point. I may be unfairly conflating options and refinement - if you like the badge and only want the options - but are not concerned with greater refinement, than I could see how the King Ranch would fit the bill nicely.

As a current Explorer owner, I would love to meet the customers that “demanded a King Ranch version” that could just jump to the better refined (and better looking in my opinion) Aviator.

Thinking the car is a manual transmission based on a false description in the ad only to see “PRND” in the image is the automotive equivalent of being PWNED online.

All that salesman needed to say during that Catera sale was, “Hey man, this is the Caddy that zigs” and the deal would have been a lock.

Not sure I agree with this take.

Chevy SS?

Well under the budget, but damn if it doesn’t look the business:

Absolutely agree. I am firmly convinced that the lowrider culture’s widespread use and innovation of air and hydraulic suspension in the late 50's/early 60s paved the way for adoption of airride technologies prevalent in countless resto mods today.

Volvo actually may be a good choice, but a larger model - specifically the S90 for the space, luxury and refinement. A 2018 T5 S90 could be had for a bit more than 20K, but still within a workable budget in the 20K mark.

1st Question: Reaching out to forums or enthusiast groups can be a helpful source for identifying key characteristics of a used car’s features that would not be listed in an ad or otherwise discernible from a picture.

My wife and I are fortunate that we are able to work from home with no impact to our finances. We have no kids and have been able to increase our savings rate by avoiding the day-to-day NYC commuting expenses.

There are many wild animals inside of me at any given time, inside us all, and they are fighting for survival. The hope is that some can be domesticated, and others can be vanquished, until the raging battle has resolved. But never has the battle raged more fiercely than this year. Anxieties, rage, love, hope, fear,

I see it all about adoption and honestly think the Hummer is the best option to electrify. What was once the symbol of opulence and excess in the pre-recession era comes back, atones for its sins to brings EV pickup truck coolness to the masses. Hell, convert even a fraction of the coal-rolling truck bros and that is

As a classic car owner, I take a slightly different approach. Pure speed is an afterthought, so I look for songs that enhance the ethereal tranquility only driving my car can provide.

It is a great question. The utility of an ICE is a strong argument for the slow adoption of EVs, but I still think the main barriers are accessibility and image.

That quote from GM would not have an exclamation mark.
