Came here to share the same exact story, but in Miami in late 1999 or early 2000. I went with my dad to see this cool new thing he had read about and was totally looking forward to seeing, but that line came out of the salesman’s mouth about 25-30k ‘Market Adjustment’ and my dad noped out of there and never looked at

I was lucky enough to photograph one of the pre-production Rapid cars at the Louwman Museum:

my god yes....

this guy gets it

My answer, for the foreseeable future, is my old Honda S2000. I’d love any first gen (ap1 to the fanboyS) S2000 right now, but if I ever get the chance to buy back my old 2004 Suzuka Blue example, I’m game*. Her name is Roxanne.

*FIND ME!!

You’ve got a great point...

928!! 928!! 928!!!

choices were made, they have been accepted and enjoyed!

Yeah, in a heartbeat....

Can we sross post this to liveandletdiecast? They’d we’d drool for days for this story....

Lovely article, but the 928 has one thing going for it that the current 911 doesn’t; front-mid engine. The 928, when driven hard, raises its nose and throws you down the road as it squats on the rear wheels. 911s are a TON of fun, but can’t fully replicate the way a well-sorted 928 hauls itself up to speed.

No words

My butt wants these seats

Last bill (big job, REALLY big job...) Was closing on 15k, including wheels and tires. 10k mechanical work more or less.

Irish.

Re: #8
