Carjacking has been a federal offense since the early 1990s. The fear was that it has turned rampant after criminals figured it was easy to yank some out out of a running car instead of trying to break into a parked one.

The victim, “in shock,” called Miami-Dade police, who arrested Hadad, initially on state charges, and located the gun. The case later became federal as the Honda was, according to a federal indictment, “transported, shipped and received in interstate and foreign commerce.”

For those confused: It’s secondary financing, and indirect. That means the customer isn’t signing a loan, but an installment sales contract. The contract is between the customer and the dealer, and the dealer then sells the contract to a third party.

If the comment section closes, I won’t bother coming here anymore. I say that, not because it matters if I, personally, show up, but I figure that a lot of people would do the same.

Unfortunately for us, since this only happened yesterday, we don’t know much, but we’re going to fight as hard as we can to keep the comments under the new owners. The good news, the company that bought us is an actual media company and not some random AI startup just looking to buy a name, so while I’m sure there

Heard Jalopnik got sold. I assume as a result the comments section will soon be closed. Thanks for all of the fun and stuff over the years.  Many who started here are now over at the Autopian, which has become what this site used to be. Maybe the new owners will “get” that selling ads first and content a distant

This is even worse than that asshole who shot out his own window and windshield while driving because he thought somebody shot at him. Yet somehow he managed to get off.

He was convicted in Federal Court. Florida laws aren’t taken into account.

The way Mr. Hadad acted you'd think the guy had eaten his pets.

I googled the place. Permanently Closed.

Once again, I would like to remind us all about how Singapore gained it’s independence, because it’s wild. After the British gave up their holdings in the region, Singapore became part of Malaysia. But they were so violent and racist that Malaysia was forced to kick Singapore out of the country, making Singapore

The problem with insuring a Tesla, I imagine, is the obscene cost and delay in getting one repaired.

Geico is pretty notorious for dropping long term customers for 1 accident. So this doesn’t shock me, the CT is expensive to fix for minor accidents and they want to keep rates low.

I have a clean driving record, I’m 35 and married. I got a few quotes on Cybertruck insurance just for fun. Nobody would insure it for under $700 a month.

Doesn’t Tesla run their own insurance? I’m sure its super-afford able and the response time is lightning fast!

You can get insurance for almost anything, its just a question of what your coverage looks like, and what your premiums are.

He has 8 cars on the policy, and can afford a CT. Why not get a specialized insurer (one who covers exotics) instead of going with Geico?

I very rarely side with insurance companies but in this case I don’t blame Geico.

Of course not, why would any company insure one of these combustible dysfunctional death traps?
