People buying $60k cars aren’t independently wealthy by any means. The folks making 100's of thousands will be laid off in droves soon. Trust me. It may not be as immediate as the service industry (who are hosed right now) but this will affect enormous swaths of America, well-off and poor alike.

Hey, fair point, of course! Problem is, if there’s no auto industry (or myriad others that’ll be wiped out), there’s no one going to restaurants. So while I agree that service workers are now and for the foreseeble future, totally fucked, if we don’t get our *industry* moving, they will continue to be fucked for years…
