Can I get an AMEN?!?

I’m at work and fangirl screamed when I saw the author’s name. I’m not sure what stars aligned to have Rep. Katie Porter posting direct to Jez, but I love this idea and would love to see more.

that’s the huge difference I see between Jezebel 5 years ago and Jezebel today. Jezebel of old would’ve given women enough benefit of a doubt to fact check. Jezebel today assumes any teardown of a woman they’ve read on Twitter is accurate, so long as it seems “woke.” I feel curmudgeony writing that out though...

This. I’m a government employee, and I’m astounded at the defensive reactions I get from the older, more conservative crowd when I ask basic questions like, how are we going to pay for this, where did this statistic come from, what does success look like?

I don’t want him to die or experience physical harm, but I would like the ghost of Mike Wallace to visit him and say: “Shit, son.”

“it should’ve been Warren.”

I wish people would stop. paying. attention. to those people and refocus on getting the people registered and voting who have been disenfranchised.

It’s idiotic. Warren was my choice in primary, but once Biden became presumptive nominee, I never thought she’d be the right choice as his VP for soooo many reasons. People need to grow the fuck up. Joe could’ve chosen a bag of rocks, Noam Chomsky, or fucking Mitt Romney & Id still be voting for him in November. But

It would be fun to go back a couple years and tell a past me that one day in the future I’d be telling my wife, “We have to hurry up and finish dinner, Perry Mason is on tonight!”

As much as I hate to be referencing Grey’s Anatomy, there was an episode really early on in the series where Christina has to treat a guy with severe OCD/other neurological issues, and is really bothered by him. He points out that she’s bothered so much by him because they’re essentially two sides of the same coin.

It is striking to me how many of the significant problems in this story could have been mitigated by a health care system that supported parents, treated illness, and took a uniform approach to science and evidence.

That’s the coolest story! You met them both, too! So you totally get it! I think you’d have to be the best actor on the planet to fake that kind of enthusiasm and genuine kindness, you know? And why would he? I mean, what motivation would he have to fake it with a complete stranger when no one is watching? I’ve always

Affleck’s best movie was Dogma.

Of course I remember when Affleck tried to be a romcom star. How could I forget that 90's goatee.

Cons keep thinking that Clinton is some sort of sacred cow to us the same way Toad Dick is to them (or pretty much any republican). The YOUNGEST person who could have voted for him would be 42 today. Half the population wasn’t even old enough to vote for him.

I freaking love this book. The first time I tried to read it I quit during Richard’s winter slog, but started it again a year or so later, and couldn’t put it down. It’s one of my bedtime reads.

Shhh, I hear Ayn Rand swooning in Hell.

I think there should be no doubt that McAdams and Rose Byrne are the two most versatile comedic actors working today.

I think a lot of people will be expecting something spoofier--I certainly was--but may be pleasantly surprised that it’s more affectionate--as I also was! It’s definitely not a tight blast of silliness like Blades of Glory, which is probably its closest relative in the Ferrell catalog. But it had enough other laughs
