How do you know?
How do you know?
I feel like, unfortunately, not much has changed with that way of thinking over the years (from the male perspective). For example, so many boys and “men” think that forcing or coercing someone into having sex when you are on a date with them or when you know them is not rape when, in reality, it is still rape if they…
We are, of course, saddened by the loss of a student under any circumstances, and particularly when the loss comes about by suicide.
Like if you enjoy having sex sometimes, you are legally required to comply every time someone wants to bone you. I cannot even fucking believe that this is an argument people feel comfortable making in 2016.
This is terrible and so is that cases of universities failing in their duty of care to students who have been sexually assaulted are becoming so familiar.
Right. I just find it sick that men think this is not rape. Like that asshole from Stanford. If a girl is drunk or “very sexually active” then it’s not rape to them . . . she wanted it. BS.
What the fuck, four students are accused of gang rape sue under Title IX in part because the girl they raped was “very sexually active”? “You’re discriminating against us boys for having fun when she was a slutty slut!” That’s their lawsuit. I don’t have strong enough language to express how I feel about this. Fuck…
The criminal justice system can be much worse for victims of sexual assault. The standard of proof is much higher (beyond a reasonable doubt rather than preponderance of the evidence), and confrontation rights which lead to aggressive questioning by attorneys can be incredibly traumatic. In addition, the prosecutor,…
And people STILL say that rape culture isn’t a real thing.
That she probably ~wanted it~ and was making everything up.
We know what that’s about. If you accuse men of rape, you are just a whore who doesn’t want to add to her numbers. Or something.
Exactly. Why would this be an issue? It’s like noting that at the time of robbery, the victim was very wealthy.
they also claimed that the school failed to take into account that the accuser was “very sexually active.”
This is so incredibly sad. I can’t even imagine how that girl must have felt, or what her mother must be feeling now.
Yeah....as the kid of a heroin addict, my sympathy with the pictured couple is extremely limited. I do think that the system needs to change and the treatment should always be favored over imprisonment and shaming. And while this isn’t the best course of action, sometimes a picture like this can show other addicts…
that’s not the mother, that’s the child’s grandmother and the grandmother’s boyfriend. Presumably the mother is out of the picture and that’s why there was a custody fight.
Well, there are a lot of creeps who do want to see that.
Not exactly the same thing, but I’ve often wondered what will happen with the children of various well-known “Mommy Bloggers” who have had every moment of their life from gestation onwards broadcast to strangers.
...and then posts the pictures on Facebook.
Wow, her parents sound like assholes. I hope she sues the pants right off them and wins.
