I can relate :( I managed to butt my way into a lease by subletting first (which was a sort of shady situation itself) but a good route to go if you're up against picky landlords or brokers fees. It's hard to find a cheap and decent place.

It's all relative!
haha.
Here's one.
Thank you! I don't understand why Jezebel isn't covering it! I was there, laying on the ground. I saw a man maced by police in what was a very peaceful protest.
What did you expect it to look like? A bloody L'Oreal advert? She's a busy woman.
I've come across these searching craigslist for cheap rentals. The most memorable offered free shared accommodation in nyc with the poster (obv. male), with the requisite that you are asian or 'exotic.' If you search rentals and sort from Low to High, it's pretty easy to find creepy shit.
So, while we're fangirling out about what took place inside the Barclay's center, just going to stick this here.
Oh hey. THIS also happened, while it was cold as a witch's tit. Hundreds of New Yorkers lay on the cold, damp ground in front of Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, while the royal family was inside. The Brooklyn Nets wore 'I Can't Breathe' t-shirts in solidarity.
Thanks for finally posting something about this, after a few days. Honestly, I was beginning to wonder if Jezebel was afraid of inciting protest. Mostly, I was confused. Isn't Gawker located in NYC? Are any Jezebel writers participating in the protests? I guess I feel like you all have such a platform to make a…
Natalie Portman: "Lauren Brown"
Strong feelings on this one!
Kinda lame how Jezebel neglected to cover the protests this weekend.
I love this, because having worked customer service, I know it turns me into an unfeeling automaton that hates the world and everyone in it. Utmost respect.
Agreed. Ignorance is dangerous. In his case, deadly.
$300 for a fake polaroid camera? Screw that, I got mine on Ebay for under $5. This was around 2006, though.
How do I find out where and when the next protest will be in NYC?
Right? And awfully judgmental, considering these are complete strangers, whose personalities we do not know.
This part actually just reminded me of my 11 y.o. cousin who says stuff like that to make the grown-ups go, "Wait, WHAT?? Where did you hear that?"
I love that she's going to be Annie for this generation of young girls. I hope the movie does well. When I was little I was big into Annie - had the soundtrack and saw it live. I remember watching some news special on the casting process wishing I could do that, but realising or at least feeling I couldn't, because I…
