Not even going to refer to 2nd, but how about (let's ignore the horrendous conditions) Hamilton winning the Championship on the last turn of the last lap of the last race in Interlagos, by finishing..... 5th. I would argue that kind of achievement is more deserving of a legal donut than winning any single race.

Yup. Old faithful.

For the plane in the original post, probably just 4XXX steel. Very much obtainium. They're just nice and beefy.

You could start by lowering recall rates. Power window switches that can light on fire? Seriously? I would expect that out of an 03 Jetta but an 09 Camry? Made by the Japanese? The end times are coming friends...

Actually, even their financial prowess is questionable. One of the largest measures of a country's GDP has to do with housing. The US measure the housing component of its GDP through the money spent buying/selling buildings, while china measures it through money spent on building houses.

I was wondering if I was the only who noticed that... (and the i8 for good measure)

Audi didn't invent the term. I'm going to lay the blame (because I'm from California and have dealt with way too many of the damn things) on the Prius and the government. Also, they said carbon neutral fuel, which if it is actually produced by bio-organisms, sounds like a pretty fair statement.

Suppose not. I was going to say, "They've learned their lesson at least," but considering that they both seemed utterly oblivious to the whole thing, I doubt that's the case, either. Oh well...

Looking at the video more closely, it looks like the "spotter" was relieving himself on the side of the road. So, I'm going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt.

Going by the general SOPs of construction, there are probably codes and guidelines that must be followed in the assessment, and as long as the consultant/company did that, they'll be in the clear. They're probably going to get heavily scrutinized, though, so I hope, for their sake, that they "saved all the receipts".

Because no one said it had to be road legal, and because that, uhhhhh, "crash structure" will give you serious competition.

Oh, and if anyone every bitches at you (I'd be genuinely surprised if this were to ever happen) for calling them Persian, just say that another Persian said it's a safe bet since it won't be mispronounced and generate a nice, wide divide between us and Arabs. ;)

Nope, we definitely have no problems with "Persian". Or Iranian. Middle Eastern is a little annoying because it carries all this nice baggage at this point.

Forecasts said snow would start in the afternoon, and people planned for that, including my school which sent out an e-mail last night saying everything would stop after, literally, noon. The problem is that it was bright and relatively sunny at 11:45, and blanketed under two inches of snow by 12:45, right around when

Would you have preferred them to call it the 1S?

You've definitely torched my eyes, for what it's worth

This might explain all the trouble with Air France pilots

But then their parents might disown them...

No street car uses carbon-carbon brakes. Actual carbon-carbon brakes are used only on F1 cars and airplanes and can cost about $30K per disc. FYI

Who does that these days? (I didn't...)
