I hear you. I still have the bookmark in 6 where I eventually just ran out of steam. I’ve often said I would go back and finish the rest of the series, but I just can’t. Maybe someday, but right now...no....

Well I don’t have HBO so I was really late to the True Detective Party...and thus I’m super late to the “In The King of Yellow” party. So I’m reading that as part of The Collected Works of Robert W. Chambers (I jumped into that story first and will go back and read the rest after).
Hot damn!
I see the Batmobile is just as polarizing as the movie it’s from. But I for one like it. I especially like the front end with the turret on it.
Add me to the list of people who LOVED the toy and the comic. I did not realize there was this much love for ROM. I always assumed it was just something I loved and it had a very limited fan base...
Well there’s two things we can agree on. The refit design of the Enterprise is my absolute favorite Trek ship design as well. Followed by Enterprise-E, TOS Enterprise, Voyager, Enterprise-D and Enterprise NX-01
I’ve been watching all of Star Trek in the in-universe chronology (as best as possible with the range of stardates for TOS). Anyway before I got to the movies I would have ranked them as:
I love how we are getting almost the opposite interpretations of the same exact movies...makes this debate fun. In III I see a Kirk who’s driven and focused. He’s still reeling from Spock’s death and is not his usual flippant, cavalier self. And then when David dies, his reaction is gut wrenching and painful. And his…
I wanted to love Star Trek V. I’m a huge Shatner fan, and I really wanted to buck the trend and enjoy it...But I just couldn’t. Because while the relationship between Spock, Kirk, and Bones is the strength of that movie (well, that and David Warner), the weaknesses are story, special effects, acting, and directing.…
This may have been mentioned but I didn’t have time to scroll through all the responses. But of all the Star Trek relationships, this was the one that kind of bothered me. It just seemed out of nowhere, and when they did finally pair them up, their age did not help. Plus it happened in Star Trek V, and nothing good…
Dear liver and kidneys. I apologize for what is going to happen to you tonight, but it’s a crappy day and this article really cemented my want...nay my need to drink a lot.
I have been saying this about Craig’s Bond since the first movie. I honestly don’t think the producers/crew/writers/directors where really at a point to fully utilize Dalton’s Bond the way he needed...and the audience for sure was not ready for him. Years later we get Craig’s Bond which is Dalton’s turn all over again…
That is awesome. And I love the fact that it wasn’t just the reviews, but the Questions and Answers too.
Yeah, but in this day and age it feels like comedies really need to be hyped a lot to get any attention...You were talking about Vacation, right?
I only had to cover her eyes once...and that was during the trailer for the new Vacation movie and Chris Hemsworth’s *ahem* large *cough* roll, er I mean role in that trailer.
I brought my 12 year old daughter to see the movie with me. Now, some people might faint from the vapors of a parent bringing a 12 year old to an R rated movie. However, that’s not the point of this post...or something I’m particularly worried about defending. No, the point is when the credits started, the first…
I think that is pretty fair statement. There had been some pretty good fight scenes prior (especially May v May). But that scene last night was very reminiscent of Daredevil in how it was executed. And if one of Daredevil’s side effects was to up the game for the rest of Marvel TV, I am completely okay with that.
I choked on my Diet Coke when I read this post. Awesome.
That moving gunfight around the room between Skye and the Hydra agents was a thing of beauty. It was claustrophobic, it was exciting, and it was my favorite action sequence from this series so far. It really felt like something that belonged on the big screen, not on a TV show.
I’ve been watching Star Trek chronologically (started with Enterprise, through TOS, TAS, and into TNG) and blogging about it, and I just recently finished the second season of TNG. I decided to write the same kind of article (of course this one is way better than mine). But I did a rundown of each episode to see if…
