Oh look, we’ve finally found the proper time for people to kneel before the flag.

These are the guardians of our lives, a senator told a school today that food is a privilege. Maybe for them, not for him.
I love these people. They represent the most casually discriminated against people in the country. When it comes to transportation, employment, housing, access to civil society, they are blocked, almost always with no repercussions.
Don’t just stand in awe. Join, donate and help these heroes! http://adapt.org/donate/
I worked in electoral politics for 15 years. When it comes to striking legit fear in the hearts of politicians, ADAPT is the most underrated group in America. Google the images of how they conducted the boycotts of public transportation in Denver and LA in the 90's, literally crawling under tires and hanging on to…
The ADAPT members who protested in Washington are the heroes we need, even if they’re the heroes we certainly don’t deserve. I’m in absolute awe at their bravery.
I see some familiar faces in those pictures. My daughter (who has Down syndrome) and I were in DC at the end of July, and spent some time talking to and thanking the ADAPT members who are trying to protect Medicaid. I am so impressed by this group of activists, and their commitment to their people - thank you for…
Thank you very much for this. A good friend is with ADAPT and has been arrested now twice in the last few months in DC protesting for the rights of the most vulnerable (she is not disabled, just an incredible, caring, amazing human). I am proud to know her.
It is an embarrassment that in a nation where politicians prominently wear flag pins on their lapels and constantly bray about what a privilege it is to live here, that some of the country’s most vulnerable citizens have to prostrate themselves before these same faux patriots to beg for their basic humanity.
Lizard brained republicans who only comprehend their own comfort and entirely lack empathy, don’t realize that they stand a good chance of becoming disabled and will then be at the “mercy” of their colleagues. That might make good fiction but is a terrible situation for the victims of republican policy.
GANSOBOMB!
Thank goodness there are still men like you willing to lecture professional athletes about the right way to be professional athletes. Being the assistant to the regional manager isn’t the same as working with psychotically competitive football players.
Well, since you asked, here’s a lengthy response explaining my thoughts on the subject (full disclosure: Nats fan)...
These conservatives applauded Tim Thomas for openly refusing to go to the White House to meet President Obama. They openly applauded Mark “prom party in my hot tub” Chmura for doing the same with Clinton. They loved Teblow for having the courage to use the platform he had to promote his evangelical Christianity and…
I am paraphrasing
What conservatives don’t get is that their very brand of political ideology is built upon status quo. Because that’s literally where the term conservative comes from. Every instance where they call for the status quo, for quiet inaction from everyone, for things to just stay ‘neutral,’ they’re espousing their…
Marriage is declining because women don’t NEED men anymore. We don’t have to put up with the average/bad ones who treat everyone like shit (and vice-versa with men no longer needing women). We only need to get married when we find one we WANT who also WANTS us. And in my opinion, unless you’re rocking my world in bed,…
Don’t be silly, it’s about the nebulous southern pride.
The region’s cultural legacy has everything to do with race
