ET. The dudes in suits. The weird creepy aliens. The whole thing scared the bejeezus out of me.

Compete in a powerlifting competition. Squat 450 lbs. Bench 285. Deadlift 500 lbs. My deadlift has been super, super stuck for a long time so that last one feels like a super long shot. Just generally I’m busy as hell but I’d like to make it to the gym at least 15 times each month for 12 months (normally for me it’s…
I’m getting such a Captain Jellico vibe from Lorca.
You don’t like Leezle Pon?
Wally West is the best Flash. Tim Drake is the best Robin. Kyle Rayner is the best Green Lantern (besides Leezle Pon). Connor Hawke is the best Green Arrow. Barbara Gordon was at her best as Oracle.
I would like it noted for the record that the DuckTales Ducks are doing a Mighty Ducks style flying V in the above picture and I don’t know if the homage is intentional but if it is, I’m here for it.
I bet the same person who came up with this also created the “That’s Cub” slogan.
I have to admit, when Harry Potter first got popular, I was very much a hater.
I doubt it’s Shaw since he was THE bad guy in First Class, but would not be surprised if it’s Da Costa. I HIGHLY doubt they’ll use Captain Britain, Saturnine, or any of the non-mutant Excalibur characters.
I had this thought but they’ve had two weird contradictory versions of Emma Frost so why not Pierce too?
Alot of those mid-50s characters sound like the classic members of the Hellfire Club. Redmond sounds like Harry Leland. Jack could be Pierce. William might be Mastermind and Luna could be... well I don’t see how they’d make her the White Queen so maybe Selene?
Here’s how I’d pitch it: “It’s the Expanse with robot battlesuits”
There aren’t any rides, but the Shire set in NZ is pretty damned close to a LotR theme park.
I definitely remember this- people going apeshit for the film. I think the problem is, they didn’t give those people anything to KEEP going apeshit for. You didn’t get that drip drip drip of sweet new content to sustain and build that fandom. So will those people go apeshit again now after 8 years of nothing? I guess…
You know what’s weird? I hated that movie. HATED it. I’m not excited for the sequels.
One man’s bad art is another’s solid return on investment.
I know these movies are bad, but it’s stuff like this that keeps me going back to these films. Gatling cannons! Sea monster pirates! A secret pirate city! Ghost sharks!
I have spreadsheets for everything. I buy my wife a new Disney movie on DVD for every holiday and I have a spreadsheet tracking which ones we do and don’t own- broken down into categories like “Disney Animation,” “Disney Live Action,” “Pixar,” and “not produced by Disney but distributed by them.”
The X-Men! A symbol for the oppressed everywhere consisting of 95% white people!
I think this moment really surprised me. Aeris’s death didn’t affect me as much as it should have because I played through the REST of the game CONVINCED she was going to come back to life any minute. What DID get me with Aeris was that last shot of her, paralleling the first shot from the game, and the realization…
