@The5thElephant: 1st gen is limited on its upgrade path. They stopped you at 3.x which is still reasonable peppy. People complain about not being able to update to the latest but Apple does it to prevent what we are discussing. The users experience is a VERY high priority.

@The5thElephant: He probably has the latest OS which adds some more overheard. What OS are you running on your 1st gen?

@The5thElephant: It's amazing that that isn't priority 1 with these devices. Can you use it doing day to day things and not have it lag. All the Android tablets seem to have some lag as well as some Android phones that have extra bloat.

We need some innovation in the tablet field instead of everyone mimicking the iPad, adding a camera and then claiming theirs is better.

I have a Lenovo x300 which uses the 1.8" drives. I am SOL cause those cause an insane amount more :-(
