The Arabian Peninsula IS part of Asia, but the ethnic group that originates there is not generally referred to as Asian. Japan, meanwhile, may or may not be considered part of Asia (depending on how strict your criteria are), but Japanese people ARE generally referred to as Asian.

Technically, no, though it's close enough that it's usually lumped in with the continent, ala the British Isles with Europe. I thought the amount of ocean space between the Phillipines and mainland Asia was larger, though?

Are the Phillipines considered part of Asia? I thought they were an island nation that was just relatively close to Asia?

Although, from what I'm seeing in this thread, it sounds like the creators of this app were from Russia. Does blackface carry the same historical baggage over there?

What would be the response to an app that lets you change your skin color, including the whole gamut from red to violet, and it just happens that some of the settings COULD be used to simulate a different race?

Arabs aren't generally considered Asian, at least not when talking about ethnicity. Asian usually means East Asian.

I love the lead up to the focus group, with that friendly-but-somehow-creepy "Would you kids like to come with me?"

Wait, there was a kid named Seven? Did this air before or after George wanted to name his kid Seven on Seinfeld?

Not even Marge's melodramatic descent into half-glass-of-wine-a-day alcoholism?

I was thinking more "Pinky and the Brain and Larry".

Whenever people complain about stunt casting on The Simpsons, I like to point them to "Homer at Bat", probably the most extreme instance of stunt casting in the show's history, and one of its funniest episodes.

Except there's nothing FORCING you to buy the advertised products, or even pay attention to the ads. Any money you give to the companies who pay for the ads is because you want the product or service they're offering; not because you saw their ads during The Simpsons and feel you have to buy their product in order to

Homer's always been a little (or a lot) behind the times, and homophobia was a lot more mainstream in the 90's, so it seemed to fit for me.

Mine is "El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer", but "You Only Move Twice" is probably Top 10, maybe even Top 5.

I think that has to do with increased serialization in television, to the point where a season is now often considered the basic unit of story, rather than the episode. This is especially true of Netflix shows, where each season is often like one very long movie.

If it's an anthology series, then how does having a main character who appears in each episode work? Unless he's some Rod Serling style narrator.

Although, just speaking from personal experience, the comments section is the reason I heard of this site in the first place. I was reading a blog where someone was doing an analysis of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and they mentioned that a lot of their content was stuff they originally developed in the comments section

So, by your definition, Columbo is not a detective series?

"I was trying to save my sandwich."

Are you sure that's not just about ALL American women?
