I don't know much about Notch. Is he, er, not a very nice person? It seems like demanding first-class tickets isn't a great reflection on a person. Somehow I'm starting to link Phil Fish and Notch in the same category. Unless I'm completely off base and Notch is an amazing and wonderful guy.

The thing about Minecraft is that if you're like me, and you love exploring and just doing whatever...it's great. If you want concrete goals (and don't neccesarily want to set the goals yourself which you'd mostly do in that game) I could see why you wouldn't like it.

Jesus Christ, you took that seriously??? Really?

They're free to make their vision just as we're free to call that vision tired and limited.

Oh god I thought this was satire of the stereotypical gamer but I realize you're serious right?

See, what you're doing is projecting the idea that feminists are unpleasable monsters, because that better suits a worldview that pop culture is doing nothing wrong, and therefore doesn't need to change.

If I had to wager a guess, I would assume it uses music or voices from the original game (or any other type of resource), and as per Bethesda's terms, you cannot distribute them for use in other games, including their own.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but FFVIII is my favorite Final Fantasy. I just love the setting, story, and music. I mean FFVI is a masterpiece, and I could never say I don't like VII, but for some reason I really enjoyed VIII the most throughout my multiple playthroughs.

"Brussels sprouts with stuffing- or broccoli with stuffing. We don't really know. We just put in green stuff."

Love love love, VIII.

For me, 9 was the beginning of the quick decline of my interest in FF games.

There is plenty of this picture that is just outright wrong and full of half-truths and conjecture, but i think this '1999' image is the worst. It reeks of rose-tinted goggles forming so much bias.

I really didn't see anything I wanted. Anything I was interested in, I already had!

"Something went terribly wrong"

As with most offensive things, there is history behind the offense. This particular glib comes from the fact that historically, Western cultures have misappropriated Eastern cultures as a single mish-mash and have not represented them correctly. It's rare enough to see Asians in the media, but when things do appear

Yes. The more it's brought up the more likely it is to slowly change.

That's a good point. I think it's pretty harmless to like the physical characteristics of one race better than another, but the comic is talking about making assumptions about personality.

I can't imagine it's illegal, since web servers have been doing this since they started operating. What would be illegal is if the game was released in Germany, and was sending out this information without explicit consent from the user. Any form of under-the-radar analytics is illegal in Germany afaik.
