Not just that, but he entered riding a war pig! That movie earned a TON of goodwill from me at that point.

Eh, I'm not sure they all needed a distinct personality. It's not like they're the Avengers - they're just following Thorin around, except the fat one who is kinda friends with Bilbo. Trying to make them all important is just more energy taken away from, ostensibly, the main character of Bilbo.

Sheesh, was he ever wrong. He has seen Errol Flynn movies, right? The guy was pure swashbuckling charisma. Even if you thought Orlando Bloom was that sort of guy (he's clearly not, but whatever), why then cast him as a stoic, aloof elf and expect the same reaction?

I'm sure greed wasn't Jackson's motivation, but I'm sure it was the studio's motivation. Ironically, they might have heeded the lesson about what happens to people obsessed with gold, and how that greed alienates people whose goodwill you've earned …

It's more of a path, really.

Child Soldier Initiative? I think you mean the Young Patriot's Best Boot Forward program. Lord knows I want the best for MY kids!

Nah, I think he's just a big "Catcher in the Rye" fan.

Is it manslaughter? I'm not here to argue whether or not Batman should have saved him or not, but I'm trying to remember the exact circumstances.

Hollywood has never let lack of interest stop them from rebooting something.

I've been making a habit lately of trying to see good R-rated action movies in theaters, in order to help stem the tide of Hollywood making everything PG-13.

This is actually a complaint I had going back to Batman Begins: isn't part of Batman's MO to be kinda sneaky? Why is the guy driving a tank to begin with?
