I think the secret to getting really thick mayo from whole eggs is to add more oil than seems proper. The white seems to make the “acceptable” range of oil amounts a bit wider. I’ve broken stick blender mayo exactly once, when I treated an all-yolk batch like a whole egg batch. OOPS

My sister started making her own mayo at home recently - mostly because her son has a number of food allergies/sensitivities and she can control what goes into stuff she makes herself - and the recipe she uses takes whole eggs.

I basically do this exact recipe, but toss in a few cloves of garlic. The immersion blender handles it well. When I have the time, oven roasting the garlic with olive oil and salt beforehand is amazing, especially if you’ve got cheap Chinese garlic that doesn’t have much taste.

Forgiveness is a tough concept, but a good therapist helped me to see it more clearly. It doesn’t always involve reconciliation or restoration of your relationship, especially not when that relationship is unhealthy or dangerous. That is a separate matter. And it definitely doesn’t mean excusing the behavior—the

LMFAO! You’ve been Kinja’d.

I don’t get it either. I grew up thinking that forgiveness, means that one person expresses remorse and the other person accepts that remorse as being genuine, concludes that the offense will not be repeated and “forgives. Forgiveness being a way to reset the level of trust that two people had because of a reasonable

I agree with all of this. However, although forgiveness IS a tough one, it’s probably the one that is most important. I say, if you can’t forgive then you’ve GOT to forget. The only one it’s hurting is you. You’re allowing these people to keep hurting you by holding on to that hurt. I’m not preaching though,

I agree. It’s kind of like the saying “forgive but never forget” actually doesn’t seem to mean anything to me either. I’d love an actual definition for that.

It’s an ideal that I struggle to live up to, but for me it was more that forgiveness drains the poison from a past wound.

Forgive is such an odd word - I’ve spent years trying to figure out what it meant because to me it always meant letting someone off the hook, or forgetting what they did. And that might be fine for a lot of things - but the really big things? The life changing things? The things that you need therapy to talk about?

My county burns all the trash at a local waste-to-energy plant, which generates electricity for my home.

“Hardhome” was a great episode, and the dead rising was legitimately chilling, but I’ve been thinking on this as “Month of Thrones” has gone on, and I think one reason why the White Walkers aren’t as compelling as they could/should be on the show *is* the Night King. Once you establish for viewers and the human

bulk = volume * frequency. tossing a mattress is a high volume, extremely low frequency prospect. recyclable soda cans probably contribute 1,000x more to landfills than mattresses do.

No kidding!  Don’t you know you throw it next to the dumpster at the business down the street????

You would think this would be the one volunteer position at the hospital that would be completely booked up all the time with Street Fighter II tournaments to determine who gets the next shift.

I’ve lived in New York for decades, so I’m familiar with all of the bars you mentioned, Nick. I’ve aged out of them, though, so the most interesting bars in my New York are the ones that aren’t themed, aren’t full of horny bros, and are cheap.

I really like my Synology, mine’s a few years old, a 4-bay DS415+.

Technically yes, but it has a weaker processor, so trans-coding will not work well.

I’m assuming I just put my old HDDs into this thing and it acts like a home storage network device? Yes, though ideally you’d put 2 in and run as a RAID1 Array, 1 disk goes bad, the other has the same content.

1. Plex, yes. Excellent support. (I think it’s installed through the Package Manager but it’s not 100% clear in the manager. Might be a manual install.)

2. Old HDDs, yes but the speed of them matters of course, the better the HDD the better the overall experience. (Using 2 6tb Seagates that work fairly well.)
