The headline on this is a DISGRACE. Her name is Reeva Steenkamp. She was abused & possibly killed by a man, & you can't show her the most basic respect by not defining her solely as his "deceased girlfriend"?
REEVA. STEENKAMP.
Practice it. It's really not that damn hard, & might ever so slightly slow down Jezebel's

MoGlo, you know I love your writing a lot but the title man! I was literally mainpaged today with an article called "How We Talk About Women" and your title is everything that I was complaining about how the media dehumanises women by llabelling them in reference to men. We all know who Reeva Steenkamp was, at least

I'm scared of u sometimes and how u snap at me...You make me happy 90% of the time.

I have to say Camille (Paglia, not Grammar) is absolutely dead-on the money. I realized recently that my TV line-up consists mainly of Real Housewives, and instead of self-shaming like a Real Bravoholic (I do hate that word) is meant to, I embraced my passion. The Real Housewives are a stunning portrayal of

You seem to be saying that it's just you writing your blog when somebody criticizes your opinion, but then you say that it's Official Gawker Writing... look, I just get the impression that this whole system of random sub-blogs is being handled altogether incompetently by Gawker and/or Jezebel, but if you're getting

Can we stop pretending he cancelled shows in a desperate attempt to get his wife back? I work in the live music industry (cough::rhymes with Nive Lation::cough) and he's sold <30% of a 6,000 seat arena, in my (medium sized) market. Probably would have done better about 6 months ago, but this was just a case of

I agree with you. I changed the headline to reflect her own words. Thank you for the insight.

I want to like this essay, but I don't. In fact, I hate it.

Thank you for writing this.

These are good reasons. Less good reasons but ones I still feel are valid: the refusal of fans and key players to cop to ref error after the Tate "catch" BS last year AND they have the ugliest uniforms in the NFL right now.

My hatred is informed. No team in the NFL has consistently "chippier" games, I abhor Pete Carroll, their record would be incredibly different if there were more frequent PED tests during the year, and the bandwagon fanbase that stole Texas A&M's gimmick sets my teeth on edge.

Ugh, this is putting an unacceptable dent in my mountain of hatred for the Seahawks.

Tim, this might be my favorite thing you've written for Deadpsin, but I do take issue with this passage:

That's all well and good, but as Deadspin recommended this piece last week (as stated in the post) and took five days to point out the problems with it, this entire posts rings a touch hollow. Simmons's apology left plenty to be desired, but ultimately this problematic piece isn't the fault of Grantland in particular

I agree and disagree with you. While I agree with the premise that issues of this article was flawed...I still found it a fascinating story with a tragic outcome.

However, when people have posted criticism of your work, you've banned them from the main page. You're notorious for dismissing comments that call out problematic things in your work, and we can still see the comments to verify that they were mild. And now people are using lack of complaints on your posts as "proof"

You should just become a regular Groupthink reader. You would learn a lot.

Jez,
